The numpad keys on it is smaller than the other keys which kinda sucks since I play with them, and the keys don't feel quite as nice in general. Does it just take some getting used to or do I just cope and use an external keyboard?

Some people get really good on laptop keyboards, but most of the time, it's better to get an external keyboard even if it messes with your offset.
you can get used to the new laptop keyboard. try using new keybindz and you will also get used to it. ive got a mechanical keyboard a few weeks ago and before that, i was a membrane player. i know that transitioning from a membrane to a mechanical would take some time for me to get used to it, but im able to play with my new mechanical keyboard
if youre able to get an external keyboard, then you should stick with the external keyboard cuz its better to have one
