Kill la kill having Aniplex as their LICENSED DISTRIBUTOR has nothing to do with their similarities lmao. Kill la kill and gurren lagann have the same writer and director.

Still... produced by Same Producers also means that the writer, director, CG-Staffs, and others are (probably) same too... *Just opinion though

It might, but that's besides the point. Aniplex America's only factor in this equation is distribution, meaning selling copies in America and eventually maybe dubbing it. It has nothing to do with production at all. If Funimation would've picked it up it would be the same as it is now.
