Hi guys. We are finally back up after a bit of a mess which was much out of my control. The osu! server froze up for an undetermined reason (absolutely no traces in logs, so hard to figure out what caused it) and as noone was on-site at the datacentre it took a fair amount of time to get a response from them.
I did take the opportunity to perform some software updates on the osu! server which should make things run a bit more smoothly. Please note that this downtime was not for the installation of the new disk drive, which will occur sometime this week depending on when it arrives at the facility. Expected downtime on its arrival is only 30 minutes.
It is always sad when something like this happens and it is totally out of your control (no physical access, being in a different country and all), but I will definitely be taking precautions in order to reduce the effect on the community should a similar failure occur. osu! will be able to fallback to a backup Bancho server likely in the next public release, which will give us a means of communications if nothing else.
