like seriously.
When playing a bunch of unranked/WiP maps, what scoreboard are you most likely to look at? The local scoreboard, checking your old scores or scores by friends you added to your list. If you do that you don't even realize when there's an update and are surprised when spectators have a different version than you, forcing you to go back to song selection and forcing an update. This is just annoying, and from a player's point of view it's a few unnecessary clicks.

I believe when having selected the local scores osu! doesn't automatically request a check for the beatmap status or something, but for convenience reasons, could you change that? Just add a button below or above the local scoreboard which appears whenever there's a beatmap update available?

I spend 95% of my time on local scores. Unless I'm specifically looking for what rank I am online to check, I'm on local scores.

I've never understood why local scores don't tell you to update in the first place. I assume the fact that they are not checking online means they also don't check for updates, but I think the lack of consistency between local and global scores should be changed.

I would even go as far as to say things are backwards from what they should be. If you're looking for global scores, you're probably playing something ranked, which is very unlikely to ever update unless it is unranked for some reason. On the other hand, unranked maps where you're likely watching local scores are much more likely to update.

Honestly, this seems like a bug.

Basically I like to play with local rankings enabled all the time instead of the global rankings or anything of the likes, but that means that it happens that I don't notice when a map has been updated and then I play the outdated version by accident.

Because of that I would like it if you were still notified about a map update when you have local rankings enabled, as long as youre logged into Bancho.

Of course it would be nice to still have the option to not update and still see your scores, so I would recommend putting the notification where normally your personal best would be so that the ranking panel is not blocked out? (https://a.pomf.se/hkqklm.png) Something of the likes?

Strange
Now that you mention it, it does indeed not appear
Never really payed attention to it
But I agree with it though

i think we need a feature that allows players to scan all or a half or maybe we can choose the beatmaps we want to scan. and update it automatical. so we can get the latest version of the beatmaps more easy

It's intentional because you local scores are for that exact version of the map so wouldn't make seance to just take them away and put the "update to latest version"

Replacing the scoreboard area with a big 'update this' button is a bad UI decision in the first place.

It doesn't change the fact that there should be some way to notify players on local scores that they are looking at an outdated version of that map.

Played for so long and never noticed this

I could really use a shortcut run a scan on all beatmaps since I have all these pending and unranked beatmaps around

I'd rather prefer an automatic update of every map once there is an update in general, regardless of your leaderboard. Ecxeption for your own maps, since it will be a problem forgetting to uodate your map and having all your changes reset everytime you exit the editor without doing so.

Btw, I also have a lot of wip/pending maps which I keep an eye on for modding purposes or whatever and it will be cool to have such a feature.
