How to use a custom song for mapping on Mac

so I'm trying to map a custom song in this case Tokyo teddy bear but it keeps glitching and not letting me im on Big Sur btw

Is the file mp4? Osu isn't capable is mp4 files and only compatible with WAV, MP3, and OGG.

Looks like your audio isn't a real mp3 transcode and is instead a renamed .m4a file. Since Tokyo Teddy Bear has already been mapped before, you can simply use the audio from one of the existing ranked maps instead.

this happens to me too on mac. if someone has already made a map with the song you want to use, open the song folder, go back to the song select menu, drag the mp3 from the song folder to the osu! window, and it works : )

I'm using a specific cover of the song the cover by Rishie P I have played around with the .osu files and have been unsuccessful since when I open it its muted.
