Do you know any that got so bad after time, and if you do, can you tell why?
So many games were good and became p2w or otherwise heavily monetised. They usually have little to no updates too.TheKingHenry wrote:

games don't really get bad on their own, so like was mentioned here before, it's typically the result of bad choices by the developer/publisher/etc.
which is why it's not really common with games that ain't continuously updated more or less
well, exactly. "Little to no updates" is still some updates, and that's all it takes. In fact, if game like MMO receives little to no updates, it's typically fairly doomed from the get-go, meaning these kind of attempts at saving revenue will naturally occur. In general, p2w, monetization whatnot anything related to money is likely #1 reason good games may end up in the trashcanKarmine wrote:

Happened to basically every MMO I played when I was a kid.
Oh yeah that was a long time ago I still play old games from time to time, I wish they finished games before releasing them like they used to. Now when a game comes out you have to wait months or even years to play it.TheKingHenry wrote:

in any case, what I was talking about is the good old times when games actually released as complete and receiving an update was more of a rarity. Naturally games like that ain't going from great to gutted. At most how gracefully they age will just vary

This is Tencent's doing. Kinda sad if you ask me, and they won't do anything, since Riot listens to Tencent.Seraphine IRL wrote:
League of Legends first come to my mind but I decide that the scenario described here did not totally fit LoL. I indeed feel the game become less fun in these years due to a numerous reasons like there are too much mobility and damage, while the game pace has become faster (only subjectively, I do understand there are valid reason why people feel that is good), while there are some other issues such as the imperfectness of the report and punishment system and the client maintenance. However, I have to say, while there are numerous issues with League, it brings so many good musics to a point where people joke that Riot Games is a music company instead of a game developing company and it designs some of my favorite skins and characters in recent years (Seraphine ofc, and a bunch of other skins) which are some good redeeming quality overall. Plus that Riot is also trying to fix the mentioned issues, and the recent durability patch is a nice step to the right direction.

They made the game p2w until some controversies surrounding that is it possible to beat PvZ 2 without p2weblf2013 wrote:

Minecraft is a sandbox game afterall. So it's expected there's gonna be complex game mechanics and such if you're playing on future versions. But even so, I don't think it's bad. I see it as a good thing.-Remi wrote:

PSO2 was fire, I played NGS when it was in beta and it's not a bad game but it's not PSO2, it's just a decent MMOKaaruumii wrote:
Base PSO2 was fun as hell but SEGA killed it for NGS because its stale since it reuses most enemies and it feels like the end game doesn't even exist. Not much has changed in unique content since the Aelio region. I'm trying to get back into NGS but its really hard finding people that are actually leveling in lower level combat zones.
