Ah, and I thought I'd never find another guy who likes this book, too!

Though I had to drop it to finish The Unbearable Lightness of Being (which I read it in 2 days). That book was so, so, amazing in so many levels. I cried so much when I was reading even the first chapters. Now I'm back at the former book.

I read "Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret" the other day. I didn't think it was amazing or anything, but I can admire it for being an introspective piece of literature for young girls regarding religious upbringing and issues with coming of age. It's not exactly timeless, but I think kids could benefit from reading it. Nothing in the story is really clean cut or perfectly resolved and I think it's a major part of the charm in the story as it resembles life more closely than the preachy narrative it could have been.
