The Premise

This tournament is balanced around having the best overall team, not by outdrafting using a single skillset. Feel free to use this tournament as a 5WC-Tryout experience and to get some tournament nerves out of the way, before the real deal starts.

Because of this, a different scoring system, both for actual points received per map, as well as team-points for a map-pick, has been implemented. Please read this short summary, with a following example:

A BestOfX (X being 9, 13, 15 etc.) will have X-1 maps played, meaning BO9 => 8 Maps, BO13 => 12 Maps etc.
Mod multipliers are removed to smoothen out the huge score difference they can make. The notable exception is EZ, which has a 2.0-(0.25*([AR Value]-7)) (link for visualization) formula.
Scores are then added as a running total of all maps played in the match.
At the end of all maps that were required to be played, a per-round Tiebreaker-difference is checked to see if a tiebreaker is necessary to find the actual winner of the match. This score is weighted 1:1, so no extra multiplier for tiebreakers.

Example scenario:
  1. Assume the current match is being played in RO64
  2. The match is a BestOf 9
  3. Teams pick by the ABAB pattern
  4. Once a map has been played, mod multipliers will be removed by the referee, with the exception of EZ receiving an automatic multiplier based on the AR
  5. The scores of each team will be added up to their running total score for the entire match
  6. A total of 8 maps will be played (BO9 means "Play 8 maps")
  7. Assume the total score for "Team A" is 10,000,000
  8. Assume the total score for "Team B" is 10,300,000
  9. The tiebreaker will be played due to the total difference not being > 300,000 (this number changes per round)

Registration

Signups are editable by the captain that submitted the form. Please make use of this in cases of changing rosters due to rank issues or other problems.

In case you have no team, we offer a free-agent discord channel for you to find other players.

Staff members are not allowed to participate.

Any registrations which may cause any suspicion can be rejected. This includes offensive language in team and playernames, suspicion of multiaccounting or cheating, or not specifying the correct amount of badges with the goal of participating while being ineligible.

Mappool

Mappools will be made available by tuesday or wednesday, depending on staff availability.

All mappools will include NM1-5, HD1-3, HR1-3, DT1-3, FM1-2 and TB1. Later stages will include FM3, with NM6 being added for finals.

Also, mappools will feature "weird" maps in their respective skill slots (as indicated by the tournament name). This means (mostly) no single skill maps, and some skill slots will be swapped where applicable for the specific pool (e.g. HD3 and NM3).

  1. Qualifiers: 6.5*
  2. RO64: 5.7*
  3. RO32: 6.0*
  4. RO16: 6.3*
  5. QF: 6.5*

Qualifiers

Your team can sign up for any of the qualifier lobbies.
Lobbies will be created by a referee, invites to captains will arrive 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start.
If your team fails to provide at least the required minimum of 3 participating members 5 minutes after the scheduled time, your team is exempt from the lobby and can attempt to reschedule for another lobby at a later date.
Maps will be played in order of the mappool.
Disconnected players may submit their replay to the referee directly after their DC occured.
In case of crashes in a map, you can re-play the map in question after all maps have been played.

Match Procedure

  1. Lobbies will be created by a referee, invites to captains will arrive 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start.
  2. If your team fails to provide at least the required minimum of 3 participating members 10 minutes after the scheduled time, your team is exempt from this match.
  3. Disconnects and crashes are handled as followed:

    1. Match is aborted by the referee.
    2. Each team has 1 “Play again” card.
    3. When the first crash or disconnect for a team occurs, they can choose to use this “Play again” card.
    4. If they choose to do so, e.g. because the outcome would have been different, the map will be played again.
    5. If they do not choose to play again, their chance of using this opportunity has been voided for the match.
  4. Warmups are not played.
  5. Tiebreakers will be played as explained above.
  6. The winner is the team with the higher accumulated score.
  7. Ban pattern is ABBA for later rounds.
For the match rules:
  1. NF for all Maps
  2. Freemod: 1x HD/EZ, 1x HR(HD)
  3. HRHD only fills the HR slot
  4. Double Picks are allowed
  5. Double Bans are allowed
  6. As stated above, mod multipliers (except EZ) are negated

Schedules

  1. You will be assigned default times for matches.
  2. You can choose to reschedule with your opponent.
  3. Reschedule requests have to be made 24h before the match was previously scheduled, and 24h before the match is to be rescheduled to.
  4. In cases where reschedules arrive late or not 24h before the new time, the referees involved and/or hosts will discuss if the reschedule is allowed.
  5. If it is not allowed, the previous schedule will be upheld.
  6. Teams that cannot bring 3 players to the match will count as forfeiting their match.
