Why do we laugh?

Laughing is common to us (and even to some kinds of animals). But do you know, the reasons of laughing?
In my opinion, when we talk about art, the more complex and unknown is something, the more our brains like it. For example, I like metal music, because its beat is really complicated, but at the same time I like romantic music for its complex melody with many different sounds, that compose a great music full of emotions. But we can`t listen to one music, even if it`s perfect, with time you will have studied it, and your brain will get no more new information and won`t give you enough dophamine. However, we can forget things!
Humour is also a kind of art, but usually we laugh about some stupid things. Nevertheless, when I thought about it more I understood that there are 2 main reasons of laughing: unexpected events and recognizable patterns. These two things are good for developing our brain, however laughing doesn`t make you smarter, because usually all the new information you get in that way - is unusable trash. But, if you are already smart it will really help you, for instance in making some plan, strategy or finding out the truth.
Also, I think laughing is being loud to informate other people about new unknown events.
Thank you for reading!!! If you see me being wrong, please write down your opinion, I`m interested in it.

Laughter clearly serves a social function. It is a way for us to signal to another person that we wish to connect with them. In fact, in a study of thousands of examples of laughter, the speakers in a conversation were found to be 46 percent more likely to laugh than the listeners.
