I've tried mapping a song, but decided not to post it due to political themes.
i mean i dont have a ranked map (yet(hopefully)) but i'm not really that new :shrug:

Nice! Well goodluck with your mapping what kinda of maps do you like to make ?
any style, i just pick a song and try to choose the appropriate style to represent the song best, but i guess making tech maps is fun

ah understandable i feel like im a little weird because from people looking at mapping tech seems the most creative and in a way it is but i kinda see it as plain and over mapped sometimes just to make it tech and i personally don't want to map as much tech for that reason it seems like everyone does want to lol idk

so, what you're looking for is basically just matter of them finding you (this thread) and so on
of course you could also lurk the forums aka look for the posts with new mappers, and hit them up for chats if you wanna be friends

Is it implied that I have to map stuff that looks appropriate for modern osu or am I allowed to do random bs absolutely no one would take seriously?
I've been meaning to start it but setting the timing is just so much hassle, especially the offset part. Soo I should probably star with the Featured Artists but picking song that inspires me is so hard 'cause I'd really have to listen through the songs.
Depends on what you want from mapping. If you want to just have some good time, you can map however you want, but if you want to do something like pushing towards ranked and so on, you will have quite the harder time with random stuffKurboh wrote:

There's tons of discord communities with new and experienced mappers. Nevo's server is very popular amongst newer mappers (you can find it on his profile).

For now, they're either easy/normal guest difficulties (2/4 actually got added), a canceled project and a map I made as an attempt to make a very difficult terrible, yet playable map :pTheKingHenry wrote:

I'm planning to make more serious stuff soon, just need to find the right song that clicks with me and my inner mapping creativity lol

ah yeah i would recommend watching videos and looking at a lot of maps along with asking for mods to improve fastest but also i didn't start 8 days ago lol that was just when i posted this in the forumsKidoSeen wrote:

But now I'm working on an insane diffilculty and trying to get advice for that so that my **** becomes more bearable
