This change is much easier to spot for during the heat of gameplay, comparing that you have to look up more for the actual gauge.
For players who are struggling to clear a map, a better knowledge of passing the clear mark can be very assuring in terms of confidence.
Optional twist: Character glow at full gauge, also visible from the video above at 1:56. This serves a similar purpose to people who are aiming for a full gauge clear.
