Update: Results Announcement

General

1. This contest is for osu! mode.
2. This contest features two tracks: Vocal and Instrumental. Each track runs indepedently and features 5 songs to select from.
3. Every non-restricted user can participate. Participants are classified as either Novice or Regular.
4. Novice participants must finish submission on their own, this is to encourage new mappers to finish a difficult independently. Regular participants finish submission as a team (either 1 or 2 members)
5. All submissions within a track are judged and ranked together and judges will not know if a submission is from Novice or Regular.
6. Each track will have two winners: The Track Winner (the overall first place) and the Novice Winner (the highest ranked Novice team).
7. Beatmap content must obey the content rules of osu! Participants and Judges are asked to follow Code of Conduct in mapping and modding.

   Ranking and Prizes

   
   
   1. If Novice ranks the first, there will only be one winner in the track (because overall and novice winner is the same participant). Novice winner must rank top 40% of each track to be eligible as a winner.
   2. Prizes are cash prizes, osu! supporter and badge (for winner and novice winner, if approved)

   Judging

   
   
   1. There are 8 judges in total for each track (we have a higher number (and diverse) for the case that some judges may become inactive), if the total completed judges are equal to or higher than 7, we will remove the lowest and highest score.
   2. Judging scores will be standardized if the number of valid submissions are higher than 5, otherwise raw scores are applied.
   3. Submissions are anonymous to judges and judges are not allowed to discuss with each other.
   4. Judges are instructed to be consistent in their judging style across each song.

   Judging Criteria

   1. Expertise (40%): Expertise refers to how well the map execute to decetly reflect the elements music. This reflects the technical skill of a mapper. However, in Pending Cup, judging is not modding. Although we promote maps with expertise and professionalism and care about details, Judges are discouraged from being nitpicky on small mistakes or minor unrankables, instead Judges will score in this category considering an overarching picture of the map.
   2. Creativity (40%): Creativity refers to how reasonably outstanding the map compared with the current mapping meta. A generic map with the current mapping meta or copy paste the concepts from other "famous" maps is discouraged.
   3. Judge's Impression (20%): Judges can use this for extra scores or penalties for their specific comments or remarks on something in the entry. The base Judge's Impression score is set to 10, Judges can apply addition or subtraction to the score if they wish to change.

   Beatmapping

   
   
   1. You are only allowed to submit one difficulty. But you can submit 2 songs per track, the higher scored one will count. For team with two members, both have to contribute to each song if you submit two, i.e., one mapping song 1 and the other mapping song 2 is NOT allowed!
   2. Ranking Criteria are respected (except for unrealistic ones such as spread requirements)
   3. You are not allowed to modify Tags, Artists, Titles. You are not allowed to add any BG, Video and Storyboard.
   4. You can add custom hit sounds, combo colors, and set preview time. You are allowed to modify timing (at your own risk). You must ensure your difficult name is from the following list (Easy, Normal, Hard, Insane, Extra, Expert).
   5. Please make sure your mapset creator is set as your username, e.g., "Regraz", if you have two members, use "user1 and user2", e.g., "Regraz and Regraz"
   6. For some songs, there is a minimum requirement of mapped part, you need to at least map the required parts to make your submission valid. If there is no minimum requirement, it means the entire song need to be properly mapped. (Breaks can be placed with common sense, unreasonable breaks will subject to penalty at the discretion to the judges.)

   Submission

   
   
   1. No registration needed. Just submitting following the instructions below.
   2. Before submitting, make sure you only have the following files in your beatmap folder: your .osu file, your hitsound files. Please remove all other files (including the song mp3 file!)
   3. Zip your folder (you can use export to osz or just zip it) into .zip/.rar/.osz/.7z file, rename it to [Mapper1_Mapper2_SongNumber] (e.g., Regraz_Mafumafu_3.zip) and send to Regraz. (via discord dm, osu! pm or QQ)
   4. You only have one chance of re-submission before the deadline, make sure you have everything ready before submitting!
   5. Before results announcement of each track, you must keep your submission private.

   Definition of Novice Mapper

   You must satisfy ALL the items listed to be considered as a novice mapper:
   Smurf Prevention:
   
   1. Your account is created before 2021.9.10;
   2. You have submitted at least one mapset to osu!BSS before 2021.11.1;
   3. You have at least 80 kudosus OR 2,000 play counts OR 500,000 TTH.
   Mapping and Modding Experience:

6. You have, at most, 1 ranked / qualified difficulties of Insane or higher (according to osu! Website icon), this includes your mapset, guest or collab difficulties before 2021.11.1;
7. You have less than 6 ranked / qualified difficulties in total, this includes your mapset, guest or collab difficulties before 2021.11.1;
8. You have less than 500 kudosus. You are not, or have never been a member of mapping and modding-related osu! teams (BAT, MAT, BN, QAT, NAT, etc.);
9. You have never been ranked within first three places of mapping contests (PDC, NPC, MBC, Aspire, Mapping Olympics, o!bwc, etc.);
10. You pass our case-by-case check of eligibility of being a novice mapper.
    Don’t be sad if you are not eligible to be novice. You can still participate and win badges and prizes as a regular mapper!
