Ban Tick Rate 1 from Ranking

As the title says. Ban tick rate 1. It's unreadable and just annoying. There is NEVER a reason to not use at least Tick rate 2.

There's not really much to write for an OP. Anybody who plays maps and tries to sightread FCs knows that it's impossible to sightread SV changes without sliderticks, or stuff like usage of 3/4 sliders. Those are totally fine in themselves as long as ticks give you prior warning, otherwise it becomes a guessing/memorization game which is just stupid and not in the spirit of a rhythm game where you read and plan ahead how to play.

Make it a requirement for mappers to put Tick Rate 2 (or 3 if the map is mapped with 1/3 timing, or 4 if it has extensive 1/4 slider usage and "double bpm" mapping, etc) or else they can't rank their maps.

Tick Rate should be defined by the general rhythm of the map. In easier difficulties, for example, it doesn't make sense to have sliders play in a 1/2 rhythm while the general rhythm may be in 1/1.

Try to stir up some discussion if you like, but to be absolutely honest like I usually am, I don't see this going anywhere.

It is just weird. First of all, most of players didnt use sliderticks to read velocity changes according at least to this.
Second, some of top-players even not have visible sliderticks on their skins (like ullj and many other) - search their skins/youtube replays (wont post it here because some of their skins are really NSFW)
Third, ticks first of all is part of hitsounds. I wonder that one day we will have feature to add/disable ticks per sliders, because nessesary of ticksound is depends to the song and this is really works case-by-case (i can give a lot of examples, like osu.ppy.sh/b/18773 this song, or osu.ppy.sh/b/29112 (Alazy diff). Slidertick on every big white tick is just mistake what was copied from outedan and what really should be fixed - in fact as for me it is same if we had a rule like "every white tick should be mapped".

If people use 1/1 slider, for exemple, THERE IS A REASON FOR IT TO BE 1/1
Tick 2 makes it sound like 1/2 because the ticks are all 1/2
All the 1/1 sliders will sound messy and overmapped.

If the only reason you want to remove Tick Rate 1 is for sliderspeed changes, then the problem isn't in the tickrate. Sometimes (and most of the time), sliderspeed changes just aren't meant to be.

Plus, if it's an issue to where a mapper should be using Tick Rate 2 instead of Tick Rate 1, that should be covered in the modding.

Also yeah the slider speed changes should be at least a little intuitive (like when the song asks for it)
If they are unreadable the map shouldn't be ranked in the first place.

Tickrate 1,2 and 4 will fit to almost all songs w/o 1/3 beats if song have right timing (As example - https://osu.ppy.sh/b/26320 (Darri's Hard) - try to listen with tickrate 1, 2 & 4.). But "fit" doesnt mean "sounds good". And most of mappers care about hitsounds - almost noone likes ugly noisy ticks nowadays.

and yes of course most players don't use ticks - guess what - most players can't randomplay FC [Extra] diffs let alone do it at all. Once a player gets to a level he wants to randomplay FC maps that aren't completely trivial he starts using ticks.
You're not supposed to restrict mapping freedom simply because some players are bad at this game and don't use all the options available to them.

tick rate 1 for sure fits some songs/maps. I think we can all agree on this

Tick rate 2 on easy diffs with slow SV and the song doesn't fit with it make no sense.
Problem doesn't lie on the tick rate itself at all. It lies on the misusage of slider velocity that should be noticed and fixed accordingly in modding process.
Also why do you even read Tick rate while playing? I never do it because I can't act to read it while playing at all.(too fast for me)

Tick rate is there for hitsounding. That's the one and only reason it should be set to anything. Tick rate 1 has a place if used correctly.
