Welcome to TOURNAMINT 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time (also known as TOURNAMINT 4, TM4, TM3.0+1.0), the fourth edition of the TOURNAMINT series! This is a 4K osu!mania seeded bracket double-elimination tournament which is returning to public forums once again. And just like in TM3, it'll be a team-based 1v1 with teams of 2 or 3!

~~~
Here it is, the highly anticipated return of TOURNAMINT! We're back with more raw skill than ever! This tournament stands entirely antithetical to the current tournament meta of accuracy-based gameplay. This is a tournament that pushes the limits of every player, not just those who fall behind! These mappools will be harder than you'll ever expect to see in a tournament, so be prepared!
We will also be returning with a lot of the favored features of TOURNAMINT, such as the organization of 3v3 1v1s and the strategy that comes with it. However, many features of TOURNAMINT 3 will be absent, such as choosing between scoremodes, and the featuring of vibro in the mappools. Many other elements of the tournament have also been restructured for TOURNAMINT 3.0+1.0. Please do not hesitate to ask questions!
~~~

  1. We are aiming for this tournament to be badged. This means, we will be following all of the rules that osu! staff requires to be followed. Players who are refereeing and players who are screened out by osu! support will not be allowed to participate.
  2. We are now planning for a Round of 64.
  3. For teams of two only, the maximum consecutive number of maps a single player can play in a match is raised from 2 to 3.
  4. Score v1 is no longer an option for scoremode. All maps will be played on Score v2.
  5. Mappools will be substantially larger, which means that matches will be longer. For example, Finals and Grand Finals matches are best of 15 (meaning first to 8), as opposed to in TOURNAMINT 3, where Finals and Grand Finals matches were best of 11.
  6. There will no longer be DoubleTime picks.
  7. There will no longer be vibro picks.

  1. This tournament aims to be badged; should the tournament be badged, the players on the first place team will all receive a profile badge. (Due to the nature of the badging process, we cannot guarantee that players will receive a profile badge until after the tournament’s conclusion.)
  2. There is no rank limitation for registration.
  3. A team may have 2-3 players, but only one at a time will face off against the other team (3v3 1v1).
  4. A player in a team of 3 may not play more than 2 maps in a row during a match. A player in a team of 2 may not play more than 3 maps in a row during a match.
  5. All maps will be played using Score v2.
  6. SVs will be present in the qualification stage and bracket stage mappools.
  7. Mappools will be picked with fidelity of the previous iterations of the TOURNAMINT in mind. Do not expect the mappools in this tournament to be similar to those in popular tournaments in the past.
  8. Qualifiers will not be streamed but we will try to stream as many matches as feasibly possible in bracket stage.

More detailed rules
Qualification Stage

  1. All registered teams of 2 or 3 may play in the qualification stage, but the number of teams that may advance past the qualification stage will be cut to the highest power of 2 less than the number of participating teams. The maximum number of teams that may advance past the qualification stage is 64.
  2. The qualification round will have a 6 song mappool that widely varies in skillsets tested. These tested skillsets will correspond to skillsets commonly seen in mappools throughout the tournament.
  3. Every player on each team needs to play each map fully at least once on Score v2.
  4. All teams will have two chances at each qualifier map, in which the highest of the two runs on each qualifier map will be used to calculate their final score.
  5. All players of a team are required to play each qualifier once, with an opportunity to play all of them twice. However in the event of a partial no-show, a team will not be disqualified and only the scores from the present teammate or teammates will be taken for seeding.
  6. Teams will be organized into groups based on their availability.
  7. Regardless of the number of entrants and eliminations, the qualification process will also be done to seed teams. Teams will be ordered based on their average score rating on all four songs, with the best average score rating being seed #1, and the worst average score rating being seed n; n being the number of teams in the qualification stage.
Bracket Stage

  1. The bracket stage is a double elimination stage. This means that a team that is participating in this stage must lose two matches in this stage to be eliminated from the tournament.
  2. After the Qualification Stage, teams will be seeded based on their performance in the Qualification Stage. The team with seed 1 will face off with seed n (n = lowest seed), seed 2 will face off with seed (n - 1), etc.
  3. In a winners bracket match, the team that meets the winning condition in a match will be declared the winner of the match and will move further into the bracket. The loser of the match will fall into the losers bracket.
  4. In a losers bracket match, the team that meets the winning condition in a match will be declared the winner of the match and will move further into the bracket. The loser of the match will be eliminated from the tournament.
  5. Teams that are in the winners bracket are required to play in one match in each stage. The only exception to this is if the team is the sole team in the winners bracket in the Grand Finals stage, where the team is required to play in up to two matches if the team were to lose their first match in the Grand Finals stage.
  6. Teams that are in the losers bracket at the start of the Round of 16 stage or further are required to play in two matches in a single stage. However, teams that lose their first match in the losers bracket in those stages will no longer need to play in any further matches in the tournament, for they are eliminated from the tournament.
Reschedules, Disconnections, Noshows

  1. Reschedules will only be considered if both teams agree to a time; this needs to be done and notified to the tournament staff before Thursday at 23:59 UTC+0 in that particular week when the match takes place.
    Maps with a player disconnection that occurs within the first 30 seconds, or 25% of the song (whichever comes first) will be nullified and re-attempted.
  2. A team not showing up to a match indicates a forfeit, meaning the team that does show up wins the match. If both teams do not show up after 10 minutes, the higher seeded team will be declared the winner.
Warmups

  1. Each team will be allowed one warmup to be played before each of their matches. All warmups must be osu!mania 4K specific beatmaps that are uploaded to the site, downloadable at the time of the match, and shorter than 3 minutes.
  2. Warmups will be played on FreeMod.
Bans, Protects, Rolls, Song Selection

  1. With the exception of warmups, all songs played in a given round must match those selectable in the corresponding mappool. NoFail, Mirror, Hidden, Fade In, and Flashlight are the only mods allowed to be used for these maps.
  2. Teams are first to protect one map from being banned within the map pool that they are playing for the given round.
  3. Teams are to ban one map within the map pool that they are playing for the given round.
  4. Teams will be instructed to do a !roll command by the referee that is overseeing the match; the winning roll picks the first protected map, the losing roll picks the second protected map and the first ban, and finally the winning roll picks the second ban and the first song of the match.
  5. After the bans, protects and rolls have concluded, the team with the winning roll instructs the referee of their song selection, and the referee will switch to that song. After that song concludes, the other team will pick a song, and this process will continue until one of the two conditions is satisfied:
1. One team has achieved enough wins in such a way that the other player cannot successfully win the round.
- The winning team moves onto the next match.
- The losing team falls to the losers bracket. If a team loses in the loser’s bracket, they are eliminated from the tournament.
2. Both teams are at match point at the same time.
- Both teams will play the song designated as the tiebreaker (this must be played on v2).
- The winning team of the tiebreaker will progress to the next match of the tournament, while the losing team falls to the losers bracket. If a team loses in the loser’s bracket, they are eliminated from the tournament.Teams are advised to be hasty when picking and not to stall for time, as they will be given a maximum of 2 minutes to choose a map in the mappool. As such, teams should familiarize themselves with the round’s respective mappool before they play in their matches.If the beatmap ends in a draw, the game will be nullified and the beatmap will be replayed.
