If the composer hasn't said anything for their composed songs, it's alright to have them or not, delete on the spot.
First of all, the songs in osu beatmaps are not sold directly for profit. Secondly, osu as you know it would not exist without the work contributed by the map makers (free of charge) and the song is only part of the game. Finally as people already pointed out, if the artist have a problem with having his/her work in a free rhythm game they can always contact osu staff.
I'm surprised that someone from Japan raised this issue... By the same logic all Doujin 同人 works are illegal and should not exist. Yet doujin works are sold for money in conventions eg Comiket コミケット and Reitaisai 博麗神社例大祭. I do not know how Japanese legal system works so maybe someone can enlighten me on this. I always thought that those doujin work exist because the creator of the original work is ok it?

This. peppy does not have the means to monitor copyrights. He reserves the right to delete any maps that have been reported as violating copyright. As far as I'm concerned, it isn't copyright infringement until someone complains that it is. It's fair use.Winshley wrote:
