Hey, I see you guys are talking about it on this thread and I would very much want some experienced players to tell me how they dealt with hovering instead of dragging. Like, what are the prons and cons of hovering vs dragging?

Im worried because I might make the switch of going from dragging to govering but im worried I won't be as accurate and good in spjnners. :I

Don't be worried, it's mostly personnal preferences and both are equally good

Pros and cons would be you might be slower when draggining, and less stable when hovering? But that's by a small margin and wouldn't get noticeable unless you play at a very high level, and even then you'd have practiced enough to overcome the "cons"

How does having 0 friction as opposed to pushing your pen against the tablet amount in me saying you're better off playing with 1cm x 1cm area, since it reduces the amount of movement required to move between A and B? Friction increases the amount of work you do when moving your pen around, and if you claim anything else you're a fucking retard.

You said friction is bad because it isn't speed. You can essentially increase speed by lowering the tablet area. It's quite a dumb thing to point out because the idea of "aiming speed" is rather stupid, anyways. In almost every case, people don't have an issue with not being able to aim fast enough, it's about aiming precisely and reading maps properly.

I never claimed that friction won't increase the amount of work needed to move the pen around, even though the amount it is by is rather negligible.

It seems you want to discuss the topic now so I'm glad to respond

Idk much about it but I remember Purple made a thread a while ago where he put a tablet stylus in a mouse shell and then used the mouse on top of the tablet, it's essentially still a tablet but it's like using a mouse.

I was a tablet player. I hover instead of dragging. Too easy to go for jumps I guess.

i need help, my wacom also contains a touch feature inside it. When I play mostly drag for circles and hover for spins. I ALWAYS rest my hands controlling the pen on the tablet, does the touch sequence have to do with the distraction of the pen and cursor movements?? BTW, I would also like a recommended area size custom you guys use on your wacom, im still searching for the best fit......THNX minna sama

I started off hovering everything. One day I noticed tapping with the pen nib onto the tablet when it comes to all kinds of jumps. This helped me to get a better grip and not "overhover". I kinda sticked to it and now occasionally drag some sliders as well. Other than that I hover everything. So it is a mix of both. I take the best aspects of both techniques.

He is adding his input to a large archive thread that covers a prominent topic. It's not just a random necro on some obscure irrelevant thread. Not particularly the most enlightening and topic-advancing post, but it doesn't warrant negative critical shitposts which are much more useless.
