Why is Bedtime story so scary

right? like 80% of all Bedtime story is scary out of context

in red riding hood there is just a killer wolf and in the end
in hansel and gretel their parents abandon them and they almost got eaten by aw witch
humpty dumpty literally died

whats wrong with them author lmao

In red riding hood, you wonder why the wolf is swallowing the girl's grandma in one shot to make her still alive and not just eating her right off so that the hunter cannot bring her hack?

Iirc it is theorized that in the original story the wolf actually didn't letting her any chance to live and that the hunter was just an extra character added later to make the story less creepy. Some even think that the wolf killed the grandma but not eaten her yet, instead he made a meal out of her, impersonated her and when the girl arrives the wolf and the girl will eat the meal together.

Don't ask why I have this in my brain. Let's just say my innocent childhood was full of creepy and dark stuffs.
