Share a fun fact about your country, state or whatever, I'll start.

Venezuelan standard oreos are brown, not black. Here is a comparison of the two.

The standard oreos are sold here with the "American type" name but are less common.

We love food and house an ethnically diverse population. Hence, we have a distinctive culture for hawker / street food, where we offer something for everyone. It is unfortunately endangered due to a pragmatic modern society with less interest in upkeeping this gem in our sash of culture, as well as Western influence and homogenisation decreasing the popularity of such food in the younger generations. We have UNESCO cultural heritage recognition for our hawker culture. Go look it up, and when the current covid pandemic subsides, do consider visiting us and our hawker centres. They're beautiful in all senses.

That plant appears in Animal Crossing if your town gets the lowest environment score.

to be fair, 119 years ago it was probably illegally intense (feat. "driving cars over 80km/h will kill you" -times and all that jazz at some point)

Up until December of 2019, Portland, Oregon had a weird culture (Define that in your own interpretation), in which the saying "Keep Portland Weird" came from a magician or a comedian if I remember correctly. I'm not from Portland, living west of it I believe.

We have a delicacy which is a duck egg that's fertilized and incubated for about 18 days. You boil it for 20-30 mins then eat it right after boiling, it looks like this

yes, I know, it looks disgusting. But trust me, it's so good!
(also idk why but the on the picture it looks pretty dry, usually when you open it up it has this soup thing inside, i think it's supposed to be the water that's inside the egg or something, im not really sure.)

That's basically what balut (the one mentioned) is. Boiled hatched egg, or "furry egg" in Arctos' place.

Literally my first go-to list when it comes to street foods.

Lay's chips used to have a localized name here, which is Poca.

They reverted the name back to Lay's now however.

You'd be surprised by the ammount of localized names of Lays. For example, they are called "Walkers" in UK and Ireland.

Although for us, iirc the only localized foods I reckon (actually drinks) are Sprite and Fanta, called Chinotto and Hit respectively.
