This rule (maybe guideline), like epilepsy warning, is a health protection.

Beatmap must not be longer than 45 minutes in draining time. This rule is to prevent the player from playing the map for too long and lose concentration, or resulting in other health problems. Songs longer than the length must be cut short.
I came up with this idea when I found an awesome 1-hour DnB compilation. I found people may make maps to a super-long song with rankable quality. However, playing such a map may result in many problems, especially the symptoms the player will have after playing dozens of deathstreams.

I actually knows the song size restricts the song length, but if a map longer than this was submitted and approved, there will be many people unable to play it in one time.

I understand there is guideline that a map should have proper breaks. However I'm not sure it that is enough.

Please discuss.

I honestly don't understand why it should be a rule - If there is a break time, you can pause a game, go do something else, and then come back fresh to playing. In long songs breaks mostly occur every 4-6 minutes. And if it's marathon, it's even better, because mostly marathons are made up with few or more songs, and most of time, after every song, there is break.

I'd more like to see a rule about breaks, so we can pause a game in better places.

Okay. Then end this now, I can't see any necessity on this.
