So I'm looking to record liveplays with a webcam, I'm looking for something cheap but on the other hand a one which doesn't lag when i wave my hand around. I'm going to add a webpage so you guys could give me opinions on which cam to get. The one I got right now is a Trust Ceptor HD but It doesn't record 720p and just lags....

http://www.itshop.ee/multimeedia/veebik ... ?limit=all here is the webpage.

Sounds to me like you want a one which doesn't lag while waving your hand around, while holding it with your other hand like a pro.
So http://www.itshop.ee/multimeedia/veebik ... usb-hd-pro this one is called Pro and is expensive, it must be good.
You're welcome.

Thanks, but I wasn't thinking of holding it with my other hand, it sits on a box and records the video.. but the video is laggy and when i wave my hands it just lags. Sorry it's hard to explain this :(. And is there any cheaper solutions? This one is definitely good but too expensive :/

If you take a cheaper model, then the frames per second will drop and you won't be able to see your hand waving in the detail that you want.
Save a little money for a few months and then buy the camera? You won't feel like you bought another bad thing, and your skill in this game will be improved so you won't feel ashamed after a few months looking back on how you used to play.

I got the money but I'm just not sure if it will pay off :/

The camera will not pay you back anything unless you do weird things on weird websites which I wouldn't recommend.

Do you think it's a wise decision to buy the thing? Will it be enough for liveplays and such ?

It depends what you think is enough, I have used an iphone 4 to record playing before, and I felt it was good enough. But it would not meet your high standards so that's why I would recommend you buy something of an amazing quality that won't make your heart filled with regrets

http://www.itshop.ee/multimeedia/veebik ... ze-hd-1080 this one looks ok too, and is a little bit cheaper, perhaps after some time people will post their experiences here with certain webcams and youtube links so you can check it out.

Perhaps those people could do a wave at the camera and record it for you..

Thanks for the help. At the moment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qIp7_Z3bqo this is what my camera can do. I can only record videos with daylight if i use a lamp or some sorts it just lags.

I bought a supercheap Logitech webcam, it's not 720p and it lags, but I can get rid of the lag if I go into the webcam camera control settings and disable low light compensation. Check if you can disable this on your current webcam, because it makes a huge difference.
skibblesx
Yeah lowlight compensation really lags it.

But yoo get a webcam that can take good noods if u kno what im sayin

I see the option to disable low light compensation...but it's grayed out. I guess you really do need a new webcam :?

Yeh, but do you know why it's grayed out?
skibblesx
Some webcams dont support the software :) So you dont need to worry about THAT causing lag

It looks like it's grayed out because your camera doesn't allow manual exposure control.

Thanks for all the help I've gotten.

I'm thinking of getting a Logitech C270. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Here is the link : http://www.itshop.ee/multimeedia/veebik ... ebcam-c270
skibblesx
theres a lot of reviews for it on YouTube, it's a pretty good quality webcam if you have the hardware to support it. Generally a good webcam needs a pretty decent graphics card to function properly.
JAKACHAN
I got a $30 webcam that has little to no lag.

It was the Logitech c270.
TakuMii
I have the c170, which is the non-HD model below the c270. Mine looks and works just fine for what I use it for (a small picture-in-picture showing my hands when livestreaming). The c270 is in HD so it should look better at larger video sizes/resolutions.

Alright, thanks for all the help, I'm going to buy the c270 soon. And hope it works the way I would like it to. :)

Can anyone tell me where the lowlight compensation thing is?
TakuMii
If you're using the same software as your other webcam, it should be here: http://puu.sh/3bXx0.png

Oh, I never bothered with installing the Logitech drivers. I'm just accessing the camera controls through other programs (like OBS).

It looks average for a $30 HD webcam, but it's a lot clearer than what you'd see in a non-HD webcam.

Alright thanks, I can now record liveplays, but syncing the gameplay and the video is impossible :/
