I saw that a lot of beatmaps has notes' hitsounds set to a .wav file instead of having to bind it to Normal/Whistle etc. Can someone please explain to me how this is done?

Ctrl+Shift+I, choose the note then the sample and then click Import.

Works well with mania only, for STD you still have to bind it.

faster advice. hold left alt + left click the note. should also do the same thing
