Here is a bit of general things I want to see here as well:
1. Which kinds of ctb beatmaps do exist and what do you have to take care when you produce them in your own mapset?
- Salad: Not any production of HDashes allowed.
- Rain: (Hyper-)dashes have to be compatible for each player.
- Overdose: The map and its (Hyper-)dashes need to be challenging and appealing for skillfully players
- Cup: Players should overcome the map without any dash.
- Platter: (Hyper-)dashes can be used rarely.
I will try to lookout for interesting Threads which can help Beginners to get into modding.Sey wrote:
2. Are there Threads or similar which can give me more advice about modding?
Yes, there are a lot of Threads which can help you. Best would be if you take a look here: http://osu.ppy.sh/forum/56. Most of the Posts are not focused on CTB but they are useful anyway, especially if you have question concerning modding a beatmap on your own pace.
i may link some Skinning Thread there and give general tipsSey wrote:
3. I do not like the appearance of my fruits, can I maybe replace them with other images?
Yes you can replace the look of your fruits with another image. It has to be a png-file with a measure of 111x111 pixles. You have to save those fruits in your skin folder. (Filepath of osu => skins)
Just find a suitable picture and rename it into:
- "fruit-apple"
- "fruit-grapes"
- "fruit-orange"
- "fruit-pear"
(I am not sure about the banana.)
as most of the Thread is based on the TBT Project i copied this element, "Application" means to applicate the already gained skill in reading patterns and control different speedsSey wrote:
I also have a question. What do you exactly mean with Application? When I have a bit more of free time I'd like to write some articles for you but first of all I need to know what you wanna say with that for example.

You should be able to change the title when you edit the Opening Post.
Maybe people do not only search FAQ what CTB is about and how the fruits/jumps/streams/Hyperdashes/...(and so on) are working when you play them. I'd also like to see some ctb beatmap information in this thread. But you should stay VERY GENERAL in that because a lot of people in this forum already give advice about CTB mapping in own threads.

Should be : Cup -> Salad -> Platter -> Rain -> Overdose (Easy, Normal, Hard, Insane, Expert)

Well... Be a bit creative. You can ask thousand of questions about CTB. This is just an idea to make the OP fuller and more interesting for CTB Newbies. I think FAQ should not only JUST tell about Patterns and similar. There is so much more to experience and I also think that this Thread should help Newbies to make them more interested in CTB or even make them think about CTB beatmap mapping and/or modding.
I also have a question. What do you exactly mean with Application? When I have a bit more of free time I'd like to write some articles for you but first of all I need to know what you wanna say with that for example.
No it's 1,100Kingkevin30 wrote:
Bananas (or Spinners, if you prefer that) ( each banana gives a score of 1,110 & it's not effected of the mods your plaing the map with)
In the next days I'm gonna write you some pieces of information about that topic via PM. Unfortunately I am in the university during the week and have to manage my time properly. But don't worry, I'm gonna help you a bit in near future.Kingkevin30 wrote:
First, thx for the advices.i will try to add most of this Stuff in the near Future. But i need much help, because of the leck of knowledge about Mapping and Modding.
Wow very nice of you, i totally appreciate your help, take your time.Sey wrote:

I have kind of a problem with that... i could randomly add [Easy,Normal,Hard,Insane] here but what I want to do, is to add some maps who are focused on special patterns or have higher AR etc.eldnl wrote:
Also you can add maps ...
Ask someone to help you with that, someone who plays enough to know a lot of beatmaps (:Kingkevin30 wrote:

Nope. Only the ones will be used even if you add 3 more. Because they have exact name and osu! is using those. Altough you can add more in a folder as a little extra. Maybe someone will like them.X-kushina_korra-X wrote:
Can I add more than 4 fruits? (Banana is not included) I want to make my own CTB skin n 4 is nor enough 4 me actually.... Can it be added?

You should also note that CTB relys on senses that you wouldn't use in standard play such as combo checking, sound and visual memorization, etc etc and you should also go more in depth about mods.
Edit: You should also note kai time since it has a big impact on HD play.
Thanks~
All you have to do is go left and right and catch the fruits, it can't be that hard right...? jk jk
Well, to put it in the words the people at the G&R forum use so often..Kingkevin30 wrote:
different kinds of abillity's you need to master Mod's AR,CS and stuff..but right now i don't really know on how i could explain these things in an easy to understand manner that will help you achieve these goals
yeah, but the thing that can be helped about it is to expose them to this kind of stuff..but you have to give them some kind of start point, so they can see where they are standing right now, and which kind of maps fit the skill they have a lack of.Granger wrote:

"Just play more."
And even there, they are right, these abilities come when you expose yourself to this stuff and just play more. The only issue is to make this sentence sound appealing and helpfull. xD
