You already can have an animated avatar, at least on the website.

You already could, though, the GIF file needs to be under 100kb, else it won't take it as a GIF, and won't move.

As - Macro - said, this only applies to the website, it wouldn't animate ingame.

As people said, animated avatars are a thing, but there are limitations to it
