How tf do yall manage long notes in 4k?

recently i´ve seen that the ranked maps page gets more and more filled with maps that their 4* difficulties are just long note spam and BAM, heres your map?
since the "press-release" mechanic in mania is a thing, how i practice this long note spam?

Used to hate that mapping style with a passion, but now I love LN heavy maps. The thing with that style is that you have to actually put in work and practice to get decent at it, but when you do get there it's great. If you want a practice method, play a few lower star maps and focus on getting perfect judgements on the releases of LNs. Release timing is a huge factor, and getting generally good overall acc with LNs is the hardest part of playing these maps.

The only way to get better at Long note is to play more Long note.

Play a lot of different LN heavy maps, and you'll start to see you are improving (speed of improvement depends from person to person).

A decent skin will also help, one that you can read well. Other than that the above posts covered it pretty well.
I personally learned LN with this guy's maps users/4763040 and users/8647138 for fun inverse (true LN spam). After some time you'll think that those LN sections are just free accuracy.

As has been said, the only way to improve with LNs is to practice them.

4k historically (I'm referring to DDR/stepmania mostly) has avoided heavy LN use. However, while LN use in 4k must be considered carefully, there's nothing inherently bad about heavy LN use in 4k.

Consider that since 4k has heavy influence from the stepmania scene, especially in the early days, the use of LNs in 4k is still relatively new. It will take time for mapers to understand how to use LNs "properly" in osumania 4k.

kek, the score system is shit on it, when i do a full combo over a LN section i get no more that 0.1% or 0.2%, but if i fail just one LN, the accuracy drops like 2% to 4%

Yeah this is probably one of the major reasons why many players hate LN. I'm assuming that the 0.1% - 0.2% increase in acc has to do with inconsistent release timing. Perhaps the 2% - 4% drop is also due to mistiming a lot of LNs at once. These can all be fixed with practice though because LNs do need good finger coordination to play well.

Based on what I can see in your profile, it's normal for you to be struggling with LNs. Just take it easy and you'll get better at it over time.

i don't really like using this method but you could always just resort to percy ln edit skins which fade the tail of the ln which makes it considerably easier to play. if you wanna try it here's the skin https://mega.nz/file/dOZxlQgA#9hU7wLeu_UMKgQXUF9wMXXTaJmznYPk25lGta-7061U

before this i recommend just playing more ln maps and getting used to them, ln is a good skillset and can tie in with other skillsets later on
