Disable stupid voters' ability to vote/comment, fuck yeah I'm in.Cyclone wrote:
On the other hand, i can see this being like youtube. By that, i mean a million useless comments like "Awesome!" or "CRAP!" Comments like these don't add to anything.
Quite what I thought when I read others bashing these "fucktards" who choose only to vote on maps they honestly believe are horrible enough to deserve low scores. Sure, there are some, but who cares? The rating means nothing except the community's opinion. A low rating doesn't pull the map from being ranked, and a high rating doesn't pull it from approved to ranked. The map creator doesn't get any points or anything for good ratings, and for bad no points are lost.Cyclone wrote:
But the way it's being approached seems to be trying to limit the users freedom to vote as they please. (and before you say anything, i know that's not your goal)
Realize on your second point that the ratings are per beatmap set (song) and not per map. This is another issue, though. Personally, this isn't how I vote; I vote on how fun the map is. Many IOSYS maps I cannot dream of FC'ing in the coming months, but I still like them and enjoy playing them.Gabi wrote:
the way i have seen it, most people (not all) vote for maps by this
"was i able to fc it?"
"did i like the song?"
It sounds like you're making the assumption that stupid people can't/won't vote if a comment is required. If youtube is any evidence, I'd say stupid people love to voice their opinion.Cyclone wrote:
By your logic, stupid people would no longer vote, and the voting would then require at least a second's thought. This all sounds like an attempt to get maps rated higher more than anything to be quite honest.

As in, not mine.Cyclone wrote:

It's so easy to hit a star though when you're trying to skip through that screen.Echo wrote:
You know you don't HAVE to vote, right? You can just click the button at the bottom =.=
