Recently many mapsets have been ranked with just two difficulties, Normal and Hard. My point is, some mappers only care about making their mapset "rankable", leaving the players aside and letting some unable to enjoy the song as they would want, beginners because a Normal could be too much for them (this is 100% based in my own experience) or experts that want a true challenge have to DT/HD the Hard diff instead playing a true Insane. Even short songs (under 2 minutes length) that could have a nice Easy/Normal/Hard/Insane spread are being mapped only with two difficulties, Normal and Hard.
Yes, another mapper can make a mapset for the same song with more difficulties, but that's not a true solution, many are going to disagree with me, but believe me, many mappers are being lazy and are abusing of the two-diff rule (at least in standard).
Also this contradicts seriously the rule for the Approval category.
In my opinion, Normal/Hard isn't a full spread.
My idea is, modify this:
To this:
So we can have at least Easy/Normal/Hard or Normal/Hard/Insane, so the map could reach more enjoyment from more players.
Why the last part about Marathons? Because some Marathons tend to have a very high difficulty.
I think you can get the point of this, if a mapset will aim for rank, it should be enjoyed by most of the players, not only because it's good.

- Approved Category is only for Marathon maps. Long maps with over 6 minutes of draining time fit the Approval category. Only then they are allowed to be single difficulty mapsets. If they are below 6 minutes of draining time, a full difficulty spread is needed and the map will have to be ranked instead.
My idea is, modify this:
- Mapsets must have at least two osu! standard or Taiko difficulties, one of which must be an Easy/Normal level. It is possible for Marathon difficulties to have only 1 difficulty, but it must be named Marathon for the BSS to allow the submission to pending.
- Mapsets must have at least three osu! standard or Taiko difficulties. one of which must be an Easy/Normal level. It is possible for Marathon difficulties to have only 1 difficulty, but it must be named Marathon for the BSS to allow the submission to pending, but it's recommended, not needed, for Marathon, to have a Normal/Hard additional level.
