would it be possible to access a player's replays of a song on the Osu! website.? on the beatmap ranking just click on the player (or next to it if extra function to see replay was there)..
it might be useful as to how to people might want to see a song before they download it incase they might not like it after they have it.

don't know if this post's already been done. just thought i'd share. :D

But in order to be able to use the Replay Data, you need to download the song itself, no? :|

Hahaha, so true XD

But you can check on Youtube for video replays of the song to get an idea of it, at least if the song is old enough (2-3 days should be fine to see replays on Youtube).

yes but what i meant is.. like.. an Osu! tv. its not in the application osu im talking about.
if there's some way to take the replay option from the Osu! application and put it onto the website. thats what i mean.
otherwise.. yes, you'll need the osu application to run the replay. but IF it is possible, it might be a bit helpful.

I see what you mean, but that would be very complicated. You would have to generate a video for each replay (yeah, because this is the only way to watch animations on a website, right?), either by generating it in real time (but without the application, this is technically impossible) or by uploading it on Youtube. But uploading a video for every new replay in the top #50 would be resource-consuming, plus not everyone would be interested by them. So no, I don't think that could be implemented.

There are some maps that propose an official "video preview" (like this one), but that's all. Your only way to preview a song is to look for videos on Youtube.

yeah i understand.. but thats only the current situation. what if the Osu! community became larger. with enough support it MAY be possible.? or is that still not possible.

You're talking about the future but we're now in the present :D

Everything is possible. People will give stars to your topic if they consider that your feature is needed and useful. More stars = more chance. If it forever stays at a low number, consider that you feature isn't of interest. So for the moment, you just have to wait for them to give stars :)

you know you could just make it so maps with more than 10,000 plays have it and only the #1 replay is shown though theres also the problem of generating the video since currently it's impossible to just generate the replay without the map since I replay isn't saved as a video but as a text file.. it's data is then turned and repeated on your screen.

So for now I would rule this idea out and wait until another time

well for me, it is like when a user visits the web and watches a replay, the user must have that particular beatmap and song to watch the replay. That's what i would think. :|

since you're just going to acess and watch them in-game, why not download them from the online listings already in place.

I was looking for this topic since I first read the WebOsu Replay Viewer thread but kept getting distracted xD

This would be possible if the WebOsu Replay Viewer is somehow integrated into osu website.

(Writing stuff down before I forget again wwww)

Hehe i was about to say that this is possible now days with HTML5 even 2 years ago (maybe because i know there as problem with audio standards)
