where do mappers get backgrounds for their maps?? do people steal them from the web or commission someone?

usually through pixiv or Reddit. as long as u credit the artist in the map description I don’t really think it counts as stealing them

I take my images from Pixabay for realistic backgrounds. The site labels itself as royalty free. I end up not crediting the photographers, though.
