I totally agree with this. if you just play for the rank you're not fully enjoing the game and therefore you're gonna burn out from this game rather quickly. i'd say take your time and when you're ready to finally farm pp. then go ahead.RNLG wrote:
Don't play for rank like this, you'll get stuck pretty fast if all you do is rank farm. From my experience it's usually in the 200-350 hours range right now, but it's not very indicative, as it gets harder overtime, as more and more people play and get better.
I'm on the very edge of 5/6 digit.
also to answer the original question it took me 4 months to reach 5 digit. no i dont know how many hours that was unfortunately but i had 10k playcount if that helps lol

I probably won't be hitting 5 digit soon and I don't really care about my ranking right now. I'm just trying to improve my skillsets ( mainly streaming because it is really fun and satisfying ).
Music background probably helps a lot with rhythm and accuracy. Also might have some experience in other rhythm games. Other than those reasons, people advance at different speeds. For example Crispy has better aim than me with 50 less playtime.TheNBKiller wrote:

Probably this within ~400 hours play time or this month since I just started farming maps with little difficulties.
Probably around 200-250 hours, I never actually documented the exact time

Don't know when I got to 5 digit but I had around 360hrs when I reached 50,000
I broke 5 digit 74 days after starting (Nov 25, 2019 - Jan 17, 2020) with 3500 playcount and 60 hours (2d 12h) playtime

iirc it was 210 hours 3.8k pp for 5 digits in 4.5 months of straight farming

well im 72k now with 180 hours but I hit 5 digits about 5 months ago so I probably hit it in 70-80 hours.

i don't know how many hours but i joined on new years eve 2017 and got 5 digit on the 3rd june 2018, and then 4 digit on the 4th october 2019. haven't hit any more digit milestones yet but hoping to soon maybe 
I dont know how many hours though i took around 2 years. I stopped at 89k and since then im deranking. Had a lot of ups and downs and still up to this point my mindset is very unhealthy. So it wont be likely for me to gain any ranks in the next few months.

In osu mania, I got 5 digit (top 70k) in a month, about 16h of playtime
