I am trying to create a beatmap for We Butter The Bread With Butter's "1000 Volt" but I'm having a terrible time with note placement at the right time. I would love to learn how to successfully make beatmaps as there is a ton of songs I wish were mapped, but putting a request out for someone else to do it wont get me anywhere. I believe i got the timing right, but any tips for placement would be appreciated.

Sorry if this is a dumb request or I didn't research the forums enough. I'll keep on trying to figure it out :)

Beat placement usually corresponds with a musical element in the song, whether it be instrumental or vocal. That's really about it in terms of where in time to place objects.

Thanks, im starting to get used to it, replaying over and over at 50% speed, probably gonna go for creating a medium difficulty and easy to get a feel for it.

My tip for this sort of thing is to try to focus on one line in an arrangement. It's usually more effective to follow the melody, as it usually has the most variance. If, say, a vocal line flows into a guitar line or a drum fill, it can be quite effective to map to both of them.

As setting things to music is, well, a musical issue, it would be very beneficial to learn how musical theory can be applied to the creation of beatmaps. See here. It has some questionable uses of terminology, but it's a decent guide to how rhythms should usually be created.
