When you turned on practice mode (in settings), your scores does not sent to the server. This may be good for practicing maps without submitting your scores.

cant you just go offline by signing out of the client already?

yeah, you can log out of internet or from your account to not submit scores

I have decided not to submit a score quite few times when playing over-weighted maps to save my profile accuracy, as even a low acc near fc would still give way too much pp and I'd be stuck with a c rank in my top plays. I don't really see the point in playing offline though.

You can play nofail and just exit the map before the end.

i'd just do scorev2 if you're looking to practice but not submit score.... but of course it isnt permenantly enabled (everytime you reopen the singleplayer menu mods are all disabled) so you risk forgetting to turn on 'practice mode'. that's why i'd opt for a 'default mods' option.
