[resolved] difference between ranked/loved/qualified/approved maps

hi, im a new player and i would like to know what is the difference between ranked maps, loved maps, qualified maps and approved maps.

As far as i know ranked maps give pp and loved maps are unranked maps with a leaderboard but im probably wrong and i don't know about the other ones.

You can find descriptions for all of the beatmap categories here. The only one you mentioned that is not listed there is approved because it no longer exists, you can think of all approved maps as being the exact same as ranked.

I think everything on that wiki page is explained pretty well, but if anything is still confusing after you've read it feel free to ask.

Also if you want a tl;dr then:

Ranked maps will have leaderboard and you can gain pp from it.

Loved maps will also have leaderboard but you can't gain any pp from it.

Qualified is just like Loved maps, but there are two chances: One will be Ranked after 7 days, and one will be go back to Pending.

Approved is an outdated term for maps that have max score exceeds 100,000,000 (Back when ranking was score-based). As Death said, they're just like Ranked maps nowadays.

I know this wasn't asked in the original question, but there's also graveyarded, which is when a map hasn't been updated in at least 30 days
