Currently, too many people don't know how to use the Youtube tag and are easily mistaken. They write:

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ[/youtube]
..........INSTEAD OF...........
[youtube]dQw4w9WgXcQ[/youtube]

That's because there isn't any tip on how to use the tag when hovering the youtube box in the reply page:

whereas, for bold text:

So my suggestion is to simply add a tip similar to this one when hovering the box:

[youtube]CODE OF THE VIDEO[/youtube], where the code is what follows "v=" in your video link.

Instead, why not receive a message and be unable to post the reply if you have written the wrong code?

"The YouTube tag code you have inserted will not work, please insert the correct youtube code

 Please insert the code like the following:
[youtube]dQw4w9WgXcQ[/youtube]"

This should not apply when it's inside a code box.

i prefer having the tip instead of a notification message of some sort.

Have to agree that alot of new players don't get this.
Like last night i think i helped one or two people with this in PM.
It's a tiny update but it might help new players.

Alternatively, there could be a server-side process that removes the useless parts of the link if there are any. Like:

if (Youtube tag content contains "http" or "youtu.be" or "youtube.com")
   remove unnecessary parts and only keep what's after "v="
else
   do nothing
