It’s time for another tournament! I hope you all are doing well and enjoying life whether you’re stuck at home clicking circles or stuck at work behind a mask for 8 hours a day. Regardless of your situation, we hope you’ll find time to join us for this newest Sleepy Osu Tourney~! This one is the first one we’re gonna have completely un-streamed and almost entirely participant-controlled. Everyone will get to play the same amount of matches so everyone will have the same amount of fun!

1 Match per week
Minimum participants needed: 8
Number of rounds based on number of participants:
- 8-10: 5 rounds
11-12: 6 rounds
13-15: 7 rounds
16-20: 8 rounds
21+: 9 rounds
Upon registration, you must submit 4 unique maps (must be different songs). Keep in mind that each map may be played as either NM or HD by either player. You can make this decision during the match. Each map must also meet the following requirements to be eligible:
- Star rating between 5.00* and 5.99*
- AR >=8
- CS <=6
- Minimum song duration of 1 min and 45 seconds up to maximum of 5 minutes
- Must be ranked
Your registration will only be valid if your maps’ specifications follow our rules.
Registration open: May 31st, 2020
Registration close: June 7th, 2020 at 10:00AM PST (or 6:00PM UTC)
Tournament start: June 14th, 2020 at 10:00AM PST (or 6:00PM UTC)
Every following Sunday 10:00AM PST (or 6:00PM UTC) the current Round ends. The new one round starts on the same day once we release the pairings.
Each Sunday, players will be paired using the Swiss format (see Format Procedure below). Players will alternate picking from the two mappools made up by those two players. It does not matter who chooses first as long as both players agree. There will be no bans and each map may only be played once. The match continues until one player earns 5 wins. If the score reaches 4 - 4 and all the maps have been played, the match will end in a tie. There is no tie-breaker map.
Only 1 match will be played per week by each player. Players playing against each other may decide on a time and date that works best for both players. There will be no referee. The winner of the match must provide us the lobby-link for the match to “count” and be submitted. These links will be submitted in the #Results Discord channel before the end of the round on Sunday. If the match ends in a tie, agree between the two of you who will submit the lobby-link. If no link gets submitted, we will assume that the match never occurred and both players earn 0 points.
Pairings will be made available every week on Sunday. In other words, you will have one week to play with your opponent and the two of you must decide on a time/date that works best for the two of you. Discord is your friend. Please make sure to keep communications open.

In short: Before the first round, all players will be listed in order by rank. We’ll cut the list in half and the top player of the first half will be paired with the top player of the second half and so on. After the first round, all players will be given “Points” according to how they’ve done in the tournament so far. Winning a match will earn the player 1 point. A tie will net them 0.5 points. A loss will not earn any points. Starting with the 2nd round, players will be paired against someone with either the same or similar amount of points without ever playing the same opponent twice. The player with the most amount of points at the end of the last round wins. If after the last round, 2 or more players have the same amount of points, the tiebreaks will be in the following order:
- #Won maps - #Lost maps
- Direct Comparison
You will have to register with your osu username, rank at time of registration, discord username, and your map submissions. Joining the discord is mandatory as all announcements pertaining to this tournament and much communication between players will be done there. The link to the registration page can be found in the Link section at the very bottom. If your account looks suspicious to us or is currently restricted, we might decide to not let you play.
