Is there a way to enable forum notifications, so that I'm notified whenever someone replis to a post i started or a post i replied to.

There is a little bookmark button at the bottom left of the window that you can hover over to bookmark threads (with or without a notification).
There is also an option you can enable in your settings under Notifications that allows you to automatically enable notifications for new forum topics you create.
