Seasonal "Reset" thing?pls

I just came back to Osu recently
i was #100k rank, and now im #200k
and god damn ranking up is really hard now
because when i was #200k(Before i reach 100k, before i leave) by just doing a 3/4 star map, if i remember correctly, i rank up like +1k or something which is pretty easy to rank up, no matter what

but now, im doing 5 star and i got -1, +60, +5, -100

afaik...the more maps you play, the harder you will rank up eh??
The more "Best Performance" you got, the harder you rank up

so i think a Seasonal "Best Performance Map" "PP?" Reset thing would be...good and it will make ranking up easier because ranking up is what makes the game fun

If you are having problem ranking up, it's not because ranking up became more harder, you are just getting bad accuracy on your top plays. It's normal that you don't rank up that much when your top plays acc are 85.08%, 80.30%, 85.20%, 76.75%.

They were made a year ago, but I don't see any new plays in your top either. Get new scores and focus on getting a better acc on your top plays and you'll rank up quite fast.

This fails to address the request and instead provides personal feedback on how to improve.

This request is a lot similar to the daily pp request I made some time back: community/forums/topics/510210
It can be expanded to include Daily, Monthly, and Seasonal pp

It Indeed was, my bad. Op suggestion first seemed to resolve around a personal issue rather that a genuine idea with depth.

As for the idea itself, I don't think having a reset is a good idea as it first sounds more discouraging, especially towards more casual players. Having a way to see seasonal pp (+ daily and monthly, as abraker suggestion says) is pretty interesting tho.

Well, there are beatmap spotlights. Although I haven't heard of it much these days..

This has to be another top pp table that doesn't affect the overall/all-time pp or otherwise you do have a point.

Beatmap spotlights is the closest thing, otherwise people will just replay the same maps for the same pp every reset, which is very bland and doesn't give you any meaningful progress.

to add to points to consider, I remember a sentiment in a video that states having a beatmap top score is like immortalizing history in osu competitiveness. so a reset may hinder this kind of feeling. it might also be straining to have a seasonal pp counter for ALL maps, coding and computer-wise when paired side by side with an eternal ranking leaderboard

You pass people, people pass you, it's the food chain here. You get rusty if you take a break and people get better. A seasonal reset or best seasonal performance that affects your rank or pp majorly in any way would make osu! feel like a certain MOBA which I will not mention by name. I play osu! to destress from that game. Please, osu! needs to stay far away from seasons and just keep ranked based on how much you play, do you have good plays, and are you getting better or worse?
