A beatmap that I am currently working on is over 9k kb. What is the normal file size for uploading and how can I reduce this number? My beatmap doesn't even have a background either. Since I'm newer to mapping and the forum, I could be posting this conversation in the wrong category. Please help. . .

I don't think 9 MB is that much but if you want to reduce it, you could try checking your audio file. If it's 320 kbps, you can re-encode it to a lower bitrate (192 kbps) in Audacity to save space. Also avoid things like videos, storyboards etc. but since you don't even have a background I doubt you have those either.

The standard limit for beatmap size is 5MB. This increases by 10MB with every minute mapped. Try mapping more before uploading it.
