how to break dominant finger ?
abraker
you know how your fingers press keys by going down on keyboard? well you have to reverse the roles. Lay your hand down like a keyboard and use your other hand to have your keyboard press down on your fingers.

You can break your dominant finger by smashing it really hard with a hammer.

Just play maps that are slightly lower difficulty than what you normally do, and focus on making sure the alternating is as strict as possible.

Having one finger feel dominant is pretty normal, and it's just a habit you have to break by playing. I've only ever alternated, but I find that if I get a section that I'm struggling to read I tend to reset back to my middle finger even if it's the finger I just used. I also sometimes do multiple triples in a row starting on the same finger each time (ZXZ ZXZ ZXZ rather than ZXZ XZX ZXZ), as I find it easier to space them for accuracy purposes. I'd advise against that though, as it becomes a habit that gets in the way when you have fast successive triples and you really do need to fully alternate throughout to keep up.

https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/1391#osu/16265 This one has been gold for me when I started to practice alternating between every single note.
However, I also advice against starting with the same finger all the time. Trying to work it away now is a pain.

When I first started using the keyboard I learned by alternating. If you just alternate everything for a week you'll probably get the hang of it

Try playing maps around 1.5 star below your comfort zone. Otherwise, you can start trying to gradually incorporate alternating into your average playing. I did something like this, but I could never alternate jumps, and that was one of the few things still holding me behind. One day it just sort of came to me, and soon after I passed my first seven star map which was in fact aim heavy. I'm still not fully comfortable with alt and its been about a month, but I've improved my alternating a lot. Starting from a lower SR and working your way up is probably more efficient though if you are willing to spend the time.
