Ah yes, maybe I should mention because of the distance between the beats that I made it on purpose for example that two quarterbeats are slightly farther away than 3+ quarterbeats cause while I played I noticed that it felt weird to play those parts with same distance. But for Distance Snapping after the beats are already placed I'd need instructions... :oops:

Edit: OK I halfway understood how to use distance snap ill make some adjustments.

Your spacing is really good at some parts, but it's not consistent through the song, which is easily fixed~! ^_^

Here's how distance snapping works (if you haven't figured it out). Well turn it on first of all, down at the bottom right hand panel. I think the default setting for distance snapping is 1.0x, but you can change it to whatever you think reflects the difficulty best (Hold alt and move the slider at the top to change distance snap ratio). One thing that might kind of stink is that you've already completely mapped this, so you'll have to go through it again with distance snapping on to fix everything.

00:40:73 (6) - This should be just a hair later. Move it to the white line right in front of it (40:895)
01:33:60 (6) - Move this up to 1:33:763
01:34:087 (8) - Move this up to 1:34:249
01:41:38 (15) - Move this up to 1:41:547
01:43:00 (6) - Same as 40:73
03:49:33 (spinner) - Move the end of this to 3:51:931 and either add a slider or two beats to represent the end. As is, it sounds a little awkward

Great song! I really like it and if you need another difficulty, let me know. I'll be happy to do it.
Get that stuff done and you'll be doing really well.

OK, I used distance snapping, added Sounds, varied the forms of slider (but did not change the velocity, I kinda like it that way), replaced the beats mentioned by Skyripper (now I always mess up at 00:40 and 01:43 XD) and want to upload the improved version, but how do you do that?

Edit: Ah yes, one part is still not "correctly" distance snapped, but it is in order to make the part a bit more fun (for me at least)

Edit 2: I thank both of you a lot for helping me out. Never thought that mapping good ones could be such work. And Skyripper, I'd be glad if you could do a very hard one. I'm pretty sure that this is not enough for Saturos, Rolled, Cyclone, Gladi and so on. ^^
An easier would be fine too, O_o also wanted to give a try on Normal. But since this song deserves it, the more the merrier. :)

To upload the new version just go to "Upload Beatmap" followed by "Standard Submission". You do standard submission when you just are just updating the actual beatmap files (the .osu files). You use full submission when you are adding/changing music or pictures or video, etc.

Hey it looks pretty good, I'll give it a more in depth look here in a few hours. Oh, and when I changed something on a map I made that someone suggested I screw up every time also. So I know what that is like.

One thing that you can do on the part that isn't "correctly" distance snapped is have it as a DIFFERENT distance snapping from the rest of the map. i.e. like with jumps

And, I'm glad to help. I know how hard it can be to get your map attention so I hope this helps.

I'm going to start on an Insane tonight. I'll post it here asap.

EDIT: Also, add another break or two to your hard difficulty. Just played it again and it definitely needs at least one more ;)

Done, but I have to say I really hated it to delete those well placed Beats, but after replaying it, I noticed it would need some breaks.

I'm still working on Normal, I will likely have it ready in a couple days. It's almost finished, but I have two midterms in the next two days, so I will likely be staying away from osu till then :P

Just a question though, is it ok if the sliders in my Normal are faster than in Hard? I like working with fast-ish sliders more than slowed down ones...

I wonder what the mods would say about faster velocity in easier map, but then rather slow in hard. Ill try to change mine then.
Edit: Changed to 230, please tell me this is sufficient for your work. ^^

Edit2: What is this star thingy?

Edit3: When done, how do I add your difficulty to the set and still make it to your credits since it is not my work?

Edit4: Ill be gone tomorrow for some time, so except for coming by sometimes I will not be able to upload or anything. I will have bad connection.

TADAA!!!

I decided I couldn't wait till after midterms to finish this. So there.

So ok, I worked with double timing, and my slider velocity is at 1.2, so that means they are 0.1 faster than Hard's. I hope/don't think this is a huge issue..

But yeah, anyway, tell me what you think, and enjoy! :)

Oh, and all you have to do is put the file in your song folder (just open the map in editor and go to File -> Open Song Folder) The map will still be under your name, but the difficulty will just be called "0_o's Normal".

OK, now I want to get this finished, so I'm back at improving the map.
Three things:
I changed most of the parts as mentioned by Rolled, but I need help for answering my questions.
1) Changing BPM: Is the round number necessary for info display or why should I change it, so that beats will even get snapped wrongly at the end? I even don't know what I made, but I have the BPM 92,5 (Although I don't remember changing it... Altzheimer... whatever) and the beats seem normal, I don't get it...
2)I will do the "REALLY" creative way (it sounded actually really good), but when I do the timing sections, it changes BPM, I don't get it either.... what am I doing wrong?
3) @ 0_o, Osu cannot open the file..... O_o I still don't get it...

Are you putting the file in the song folder? It should work.. I'll upload it again, I made some minor changes anyway

00:40:73 (6) - I would start this 1/4 earlier
00:43:97 (6) - Extend 1/4
00:44:78 (x) - Add a hitcircle here?
01:39:43 (8) - New Combo
02:07:81 (5) - Maybe extend this 1/4?

Insane

01:47:38 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11) - You already had this exact pattern earlier, can you make this an x instead of a + ?

03:48:68 (4) - u broke ur square :(

Also, a lot of the map seems to be very rigidly mapped; hitcircles on the syllables with sliders on long words at the end of sentences. I would recommend mixing more sliders into the map, it WILL make it more fun. Also don't be afraid to map places where there are no lyrics, not OVERLY map mind you, but spots like 01:25:164 - 01:26:613 in Hard for example would benefit just from straight 1/2 beats, you normally don't want the player simply waiting for beats to show up in the middle of a song (besides breaks of course).

Oh, and don't be afraid to ask for mods on the IRC, Paramore is pretty popular so I would think it shouldn't be too hard to find someone to take a look ;)

Thanks for the support, I changed most of the obvious mistakes, but I also did some things individually in another way as you asked me to change. I like it how it is now. But if I overlooked something again, please tell me. ^^

Resnap All Notes before proceeding. If you don't know how, click on Timing then Resnap All Notes.
There is no need to use non-inherited timing sections here. BPM seems constant all the way.
00:59:37 (8) - Put this a bit further from the previous hitcircle.
03:00:03 (1) - Put this a bit closer to the previous hitcircle, unless you want to hold the pattern it makes with the succeeding hitcircles, in which case you can move the previous hitcircle closer to this one instead.
03:09:76 (8) - No use putting a jump here. Put this closer to the previous hitcircle.
03:32:14 (2) - Space this accordingly.

[Insane]
Resnap All Notes before proceeding.
00:39:11 (8) - Move this forward by 1/4. Sounds way better.
02:11:41 (7) - Move this back by 1/4. Sounds way better.
03:34:90 (1,2,3,4) - Space accordingly.

This is actually good for your first map. I'm rather impressed. :)

OK, I hope I changed like you imagined it. What did actually the "resnap all beats" change? Weren't the beats placed right in timeline?

Not all the beats were "snapped" in place. I auto-resnapped it and saw the changes. It definitely has something to do with the non-inherited timing sections, which I saw were unnecessary.

Well, I changed most parts, but I do wonder why my map seems to have a hard time getting ranked, when truely many other ranked maps are simply "crappy" to play due to awkward spacing, exagerated parts or as you mentioned, bad flow...., but they got ranked....
It just doesn't get in my head. I am sure, there are still "problems" with my map, but I am also tired of editing this map...
I may sound like a whiny guy, but I just played too many "bla" maps, which confuses me a bit.

Updated; added hitsounds and fixed SFG stuff I found necessary (ie noticable in-game)

And for future reference let me fix my own diff when it gets modded ^_^

Sorry, but no, I've had it. After playing several bad beatmaps I got tired editing my map just for the cause of getting it ranked. It simply is not what I was intending to do as map with this song. It also demotivated me to make any other map in future. So, yeah, whatever....

Edit: I still did some changes, coz I had nothing to do, but now I really don't care anymore, I'll play this map whether or not u rank it. I might still change minor problems (which I overlooked the last time I edited), but I won't do any major changes anymore.

Don't be discouraged, remember unless a BAT says that you have to, no one is forcing you to make changes. Any mods are just suggestions by normal users like you as to what they think will make your map better. Whether you heed that advice is really up to your discretion.

If you still want to keep working on this, I can try and help the map get attention...

Well, true that I probably overreacted on this issue. I kinda took the suggestions like "if you don't do that the map is bad". But really, there are enough maps where I wonder what the people were thinking. But like you said, just an opinion.

Anyways I wish to get at least this one finished and would be grateful for more attention. Thank you for the help.

General
The break at 01:30:516 feels a little out of place, it kind of stops right in the middle of the verse. I think it would fit better if you mapped this part and had a break from 01:16:570 to either 01:19:813 or 01:21:435 (keep 01:21:435 (8) in this case)

Timing
BPM: 185
Offset: 13975
This is double your current timing, and with the offset moved back so it's on the right tick. In order to keep your slider velocities the same you have to go to the .osu file for your diffs and change the slider velocity to 1.15.

Hard
02:40:732 (x) - Add a beat
02:43:326 (x) - ^
(and same with the next part)


Insane
02:16:083 (12) - This sounds and plays a little weird, I would delete it.
02:46:245 (6) - Move this further away
02:53:705 (6) - This is pretty hard to see if you don't already know it's there

Unfortunately I can't protobubble since I have a difficulty, but I'll see if I can get another MAT to take a look ;)

Uuurrgh, after my long brake, I had to download last weekend 60 Mappacks and put about 70 packs in my folders... this took some time, and I did not update my map, sorry, I will get to it later on...
