Hello, I want to map "Jingle Bells by Matt Rogers" song for next Christmas (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4VsfRc2IjE) And I wanted to ask if this song is rankable, or at least Loveable. The map will have a storyboard, everything, just if the dirty song could be ranked :D

There's actually some ranked (not mentioned loved here because everything is lovable) maps using songs that has NSFW content before (like this: https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/654053#osu/1386449 or this: https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/983911#osu/2084862), but because this is the game for all ages, I suggest you to at least add a warning in the map description. As long as you did what I say, then everything will be fine.

Thanks :D Warning will be of course in Beatmap description. :D

having skimmed through the lyrics, I can see it's overly, unnecessary explicit, hence no. source for my opinion: https://osu.ppy.sh/help/wiki/Rules/Song_Content_Rules

Bass slut lyrics are implicits;
I'm Down with Brown Town drops f word once, that's all;
NASA have a bit more explicit lyrics, but the song is just using the word as an expression, song isn't about sex (or at least I think, definetly not explicit at least).

Aka, ura exemples aren't the same at all as Krystal's song. The song aims for sexual intents. https://osu.ppy.sh/help/wiki/Rules/Song_Content_Rules#mapping-tracks-with-explicit-lyrics contains more information on the subject to help classifie what is acceptable or not. Imo this violate this rule. If you want full confirmation, ask directly a member of GMT (pm or the new website message thingy, which apparently now give notification)

Edit: once again I spent too much time typing, listening songs and seeking the correct links, Tic beat me up to it... well you got your gmt answer at least, case closed.

True, you're right, it's not appropriate for Ranked. So this means that there must be a maximum of 20% of swearings in the song? I'll try to find some less dirty version of Jingle Bells. I just don't know if the same song rules applying to Loved Maps or Loved have their own song rules...

Same rules apply.

The rule applies to all SUBMITTED beatmap. Loved and ranked are getting more exposure, so they have higher chance of being seen and reported, it's the only difference.

Song Content Rules wrote:

Many musical styles or genres make use of explicit lyrics for artistic or stylistic ends, and while profanity and explicit content isn't outright forbidden, tracks that are vulgar to the extreme or are deliberately designed to shock or inflame others are not allowed.

The 20% rule is a guideline to help determine if the explicit lyrics are acceptable or not. Pretty sure there are ranked songs with way more than 20% explicit lyrics but are for this "artistic" purpose suggested. Opposite can also be said, pretty sure songs got removed despite being less than 20%. You just have to think what is artistic and what is vulgar. And if in doubt, ask a GMT.
