Bancho's new home *-*

It works for me :!:

When osu! opens, it says in the middle that it's currently updating and that I need to update my engine because it's outdated. However, osu! closes itself immediately after showing the connection error.

I found out that it's the osume.exe file that is shutting down immediately and giving me the (0xc000007b) error code.

I reinstalled it, didn't work.
I opened the osume.exe file as administrator, didn't work.

Before this updated, everything worked fine.

My OS is Windows 7 home premium (64-bit), Intel Core i5 and enough RAM for this game.

Help anyone?

Please delete osu!.exe and run the updater again if you have issues. It may have somehow become corrupt.

A restart fixed it. Now I feel pretty derp ._.

It's a more serious problem that'd need me to completely restore my computer, which I dont really want to.

I hope that peppy is going to include this server upgrade in a next osu! version that I can download manually where I don't need the osume.exe updater for :L

It already is.

Still doesn't work, guess I'm done with osu

For those users who have problems with error 0xc000007b you should try to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable.

So umm... it won't update for me. It just gives me an error. How am I supposed to connect to that IP you gave?

Sorry if it's obvious, I'm not very good with computers, I just want to update and play online.

What be the error?

This will likely fix itself in the next 24 hours. You could try restarting your PC as it may help.

after updating... closes osu then it goes to the update window after logging in.. this happens everytime i run osu.exe
Topic Starter
peppy
What happens when you run the updater?
daniellle
i does not update because i already updated it.
i click start osu and then it takes me back to the updater again.

Try deleting osu!.cfg from your osu! directory (not the one with your username).
daniellle
still doesnt work.

i think i will just wait a day or two before i run it again..

thanks for the hard work :D
daniellle
i think it is not compatible with windows vista. i tried it with windows 7 and it works well but it keeps on updating in my windows vista. oh, works on xp as well. the update is smooth in windows 7 but not in vista.

never mind this post. i got it working. XD

Try turning off DEP function for osu!, it should help.
Control Panel - System - Advanced Settings - Performance Settings

I don't think DEP is the problem here. There have been a few other mentions of this issue, but I am not too sure why it is happening.

When I'm encountering the "program stopped working" problem, DEP works for me in 99% (it didn't help only once so far).

Now, I can't log in to the game even if my Username and Password is correct -.-

Your DNS might be stuck pointing at the old server. Can you try pinging cho.ppy.sh?

Okay, and what version does your osu! display (top-right corner of the options screen)?

osu! b1814

This should be 1815. Please try deleting osu!.cfg (the one *without* your username) and then running osume

I deleted the osu!.cfg but then, when I run osume it says that there is an error occured:

It looks like something on your PC is forwarding osu! lookups to localhost (127.0.0.1). Plesae try disabling any virus scanning/internet security/proxy apps and see if that helps.

Please also tell me if it helped fix the issue, as I am not sure if it will or not.

not sure if this relocation is connected somehow, but for some reason this specific beatmap of mine ( http://osu.ppy.sh/forum/viewtopic.php?t=58204 ) is not uploading the audio file anymore.... i started noticing this after the relocation... been working on fixing this by myself for a few days now.... but i cant seem to upload it "with" the audio file... and when i download the osz file, its file size is only 4.15Kbs.... is this related somehow? i havent checked my other beatmaps yet so im not sure about them...

Try doing a full submit. (no this is not related)
