Hi, i just got a wooting keypad and i want to swap the switches but i dont know how to pull them out, i dont have a switch puller and i dont want to spend money on it. Is it safe to use a screwdriver to pull it out? Or is it just gonna damage the keypad? Can someone help me about it?

Just pull them out. That's it :p

I emptied a 60-key board no problem without a puller.

The two boards I messed with had some plastic top-shield, foam, and a bottom; the switches basically wiggled out with slight-strong force and two fingers (they weren't held-in tightly and I guess has sponge/bounce for softer key presses)

As a disclaimer: this is a very poor idea, you could damage the base of the switches (source: wooting engineers via discord). if you dont have a switch puller you *can* just do a full board teardown and pop them out the bottom, otherwise its better to just buy a switch puller

I agree with that being good advice!

I have two pullers (one fancy plastic-housing, one basic metal wire), and found them both more hassle with taking out switches than my fingers. The plastic one is nice for putting switches back in though! (first few keys I put in by hand ended up at a slight angle/not fully inserted and bent pins, fixed with tweezers)

Id rather the hastle than damaging a few of my extremely limited switches, but I understand the mentality :3
