gfshfsghajdsh no way, you have me living in 2015-2017 againnnn this is so true to my impression/memory of early-synthion days-- it's a little bit saccharine in a sense that is hard to hold onto, not like it was back then ;o; ty for sharingnominomu wrote:
always respecting your musical ventures, genuinely so fun. and the crazed ytp vibe carried by some of these songs makes for wonderful experiences with samples and it makes you dance like a jolly fool, doubling down confidently and happily. it's this whole other form of simultaneous 2011-and-2017 era reminiscence for meBirdy wrote:
my new album is out. dancecore, breakcore, nightcore, j-core, all kinds of core dumb shit. obey the title and share it around.

aaaa!!! wait i love this so much what?? huh???? i love the acid bass, it sounds like a love letter to that neo-y2k type of modern jungle/dnb + modern hypertrance.... i love the second half the most, i would've loved to find this in my late 00's childhood trance eraYuri wrote:
awesome seeing so many breakcore type stuff here! i just released this one https://soundcloud.com/1n1x1a/processes
i tried doing a tempo change going into the second half and i think it made it pretty groovy
TYTYTY!!! I LOVE ACID BASS SO MUCH! i listen to a lot of that stuff so its awesome to hear its showing in the trackAchromalia wrote:

try was the first track i was really happy about but i wish the off beat bass was better xd
I love hearing ur perspective on the tracks its really interesting! also super cool that you picked up on the footwork inspo for bitcrushthings i feel like not many even know the genre.Achromalia wrote:

idk if you have it on yt but i save songs on playlists there to loop while i daydream, i would love to find it again someday
also! the "try" bass pluck is hard to imagine being better rn but i believe you completely, it feels like there is always something that you wanna hear just a little differently but dont know how to do... i personally think i think sharp decay makes it feel perfect for the foreground staccato synth and the two-step percussion! and the subtlety and gentleness of it sitting in the background makes it feel like i can hold the little blippy synths and sink into the slippery lead and the shimmery ripples of the sidechain-harmony pool
and "bitcrushthings" feels like a hextrance + footwork deal and i LOVE ITTTT hfhgrgh i drink that music wholeee <3 the vocal samples that call back to some breakcore/jungle songs, and then its also so funkyyyyy
but "wisp" might be one of my fav from what you were making, it brings me a lot of peaceful cleancore feelings, a lot of alternate-universe neo-y2k childhood-i-never-had daydreams too-- it reminds me of a few other songs by other artists when i was younger too, and i yearn for the comfort of that imaginary place and imaginary life in a mundanely gentle alternate world as an unremarkably happy alternate self
i think so too, it seems sort of like there are multiple small niche musician communities around footwork but not exactly a general audience other than presumably some specific rhythm game musicians who repurpose it + some specific soundcloud spacesYuri wrote:

whoa these are sick! i love the melodies so much! the build up and drop in the first one is so good! are you using a tracker to make this stuff?Achromalia wrote:
...another songdump, there is so much i just don't finish or revise bc im tired or something :'c these are all old songs from 2020-2022 but i remember at least trying to make things then...
there is a lot i wish i could improve with, a lot i wish i could make the way i wanted to, but... mmn, hoping has been difficult. sound design is one of the hardest parts of making music, all i really can feel reliably capable with is my joy for melody and maybe rhythm, but percussion and instrumental textures are kind of a struggle
i don't think i've ever really made music that felt cleanly identifiable as part of a genre, i seem to be mostly using a mixture of... chiptune-like textures and sensibilities, at least, but everything else is a mess of little parts from speedcore or some kind of digital hardcore or jungle (i don't even really know what these mean half the time, or what i can associate my music with), but it's very rarely ever the music i actually Love Listening To Regularly
...i just don't know how to conveniently habitualize the production of the music i love :'(
