Is it possible to use hitsounds directly from a song?

If so then how could I do that?

I'm trying to find some hitsounds for claps but I cant find any. Are there places where I can find them, or is there a way to use parts of the song and turn it into hitsounds.

Hi, we mappers usually get our hitsound samples from hitsound packs that could be downloaded around osu!, feel free to take a look at Lasse's userpage, you'll be able to find a relatively simple hitsounding starter pack and also a guide if you need one.

Regarding ways to use parts of the song and turn it into hitsounds, it is technically possible, but it requires some really advanced knowledge of many other programs outside of osu! so I would recommend starting out with what's said above first, it would be what 99.9% of mappers need in the long run. If you are looking for even more hitsound samples, try looking at these people's userpage for hitsound packs and you might find what you need.

Alright thank you I'll be looking at the hitsound packs. However if I don't find anything similar, do you know or can link to someone who knows how to extract and use hitsounds from songs?
