Main Request:
Artist name: #2i2

Before I explain anything about this artist, listen to this and this.

OK hopefully that got your attention, and for mappers, maybe you have some ideas for mapping those songs.

Information:
The song linked above links to their official YouTube channel
Official Website
Link to their YouTube Music Topic Channel

Who they are:
An idol group (yes, I know that sounds like a turn-off, that's why I put music samples first)

What they do:
Generic idol entertainment things
Music: mostly electronic-inspired stuff and also rock and metal - quite the opposite of generic idol stuff, but not quite BABYMETAL either.
The individual singers are gravure idols (this is also kind of weird, but again hopefully you'll be convinced that at least the songs would fit in osu!)

That's the bulk of my main suggestion. The rest is extra.

1) Either add nayuta as a featured artist on her own right (not the first time I've asked this) or add some of her guest vocal work to existing artists like ARForest.
2) Echoing Hinsvar from over a year ago, please add existing FAs' new songs. The La priere non-album stuff doubly so. You all already added the Imitator EP (thank you), but then like the gift that keeps on giving we have PARADOXY (another collab mini-album between BlackY and yuzurisa). It's also a shame that Toushin Gengi was used in OWC but is not actually a licensed ABSOLUTE CASTAWAY song.
3) I don't think I need to request this but other major rhythm game artists like Team Grimoire, P*Light, sakuzyo, etc. for obvious reasons.
Kinmiri

Mitchie M

* Who are they?
Mitchie M is a Japanese J-Pop hype artist, they are ironic to the Vocaloid community with Viva Viva Happy, Freely Tomorrow, Ohedo Julia-Night

* Why featured artist?
Having beatmaps made as early as 2012/2011 and having loved maps (Seraphim On The Ring,Suki ! Yuki ! Maji Magic) having 18(search shows 17) maps with leaderboards

They have been featured in rhythm games before also as known as Project diva game series, Project Mirai 2, Project sekai (I know, alot of projects lol)
I think their songs would be great addition to rhythm games like osu

They're a Japanese all-female pop-rock band, which I think would be warmly welcomed by a majority of osu!'s playerbase due to their anisong & J-Pop/Rock vibes.

Self Deception

Who are they? Self Deception is a swedish rock/modern rock band, founded in 2007.

Why featured artist? In my opinion, they make really nice songs, and they are fun to map/play. Right now, there is only one ranked Self Deception beatmap, but I would love to see more. They definitely deserve more attention.

TRONIC is a pop-punk band from Chile, that have been playing music for almost 20 years now. They've been doing independent music their entire career (that means they own all of their music), and they're pretty much famous here in South America.

There's ranked maps of this band as well:

Myself!

Winkwing
I'm an artist who makes music for fun and loves to experiment.
I've got a very small following of my own. I've actually always wanted to compose for a rhythm game or two and when I tried to beatmap my own tracks with osu!mania, I found it to be genuinely fun. Plus I just generally like the game and think people might enjoy making their own beatmaps of my tracks.

It's probably already been said, but here goes.

Susumu Hirasawa

Many of you may know Starrodkirby86, a mapper responsible for many of the most iconic and influential maps in the early years of osu!. Among these are but not limited to:

Forces

Chevron

Armor Buffer

Aurora 2

Big Brother

and perhaps most infuentially, SWITCHED-ON LOTUS.

These maps, with difficulties titled "KIRBY Mix", all helped launch mapping into the modern age and were a step above the rest in difficulty and quality for their time.

It just so happens that all the maps I mentioned use songs written by the same artist; Susumu Hirasawa.

Making Susumu Hirasawa a featured artist would preserve some of the greatest early osu! maps for future generations of players, and encourage more great maps of his songs to be produced.

YUC'e

they're a japanese producer/singer, and there's already a lot of ranked/loved maps of their songs. the high energy of their songs, along with the bpm often being around 180, makes it pretty suitable for mapping.

  1. Twitter: https://twitter.com/R_sei_
  2. YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@RyuSei544732
  3. Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/r-sei
Ryu Sei is a notorious osu!mania mapper who often demands player to testplay his maps. But behind that, Ryu Sei is also a newbie composer who tries to make musics focused on rhythm games.
Usage policy
Feel free to use non-remixes made by me as long as it's not commercial.

Music samples:
Kurboh
DJ Genericname

DNB producer, with two songs of theirs getting a lot of attention from osu players, Dear You and Dango Dango Drum and Bass:
- beatmapsets/43466 Dear You by Rue
- beatmapsets/64636 Dango Dango Drum and Bass by Moway
There's many more to list!

SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/adam-whitton
Bandcamp: https://djgenericname1.bandcamp.com/
Youtube: https://youtube.com/@DJGenericname

Also worth noting that they might have an osu! account, but I'm not sure exactly, has one comment on a mapset with their song: users/4994133

I'm surprised no one suggested this person yet, would be ana amazing addition to the featured roster!
Kurboh
Here's an insane suggestion, but...

Groove Coverage

A German EDM/pop group responsible for remakes of many popular songs such as:
- Moonlight Shadow
- God Is A Girl
- Poison
- Holy Virgin
...and many more

What they're probably much more well known for (inside of osu! at least) are many of their nightcore remixes of those songs being used for beatmaps since early osu! years up until today. I would suggest Cascada as well, but due to their higher popularity, I think it's extremely unlikely for them to appear as featured artists.

Some maps that use Groove Coverage music:
- beatmapsets/57984 Poison (Nightcore Mix) by Gero
- beatmapsets/54675 Holy Virgin (Nightcore Mix) by riffy
- beatmapsets/9284 God is a Girl by Rena-chan
- beatmapsets/48047 On The Radio (Nightcore Mix) by ztrot

Dragonis is a very underrated music artist who makes EDM music and various tutorials teaching people how to make EDM music.
He is a perfect fit to become a featured artist at osu. Honestly, he is instantly worthy of becoming a featured artist at first listen because he has made very remarkable songs such as Journey to Windrise which is one of his most loved songs that is found on his YouTube channel.

He also does YouTube tutorials on music previously mentioned, this is his most popular tutorial so far. He even has his website: dragonismusic.com.
All of his music currently has a creative commons license.
Lastly, he has an osu profile: dragonis_music.
To sum it up, I was hoping that you could allow Dragonis to join the featured artists.

jeko

A producer whose music is very similar to Camellia's, and specialises in creating rhythm game esque music. They make genres such as:

  1. 200step
  2. Hardcore
  3. Artcore
  4. Chiptune
  5. Hi-Tech
  6. Techcore
Their newest songs are high quality in terms of ideas and mixing, and they have a variety of songs that can be used. Although their older songs are (in my opinion) much lower quality, improvement is very clear and they are capable of making some very high quality music. jeko's music has been featured in "Coul's Scuffed Overskilled 5 Digit Cup" and is a part of coul's collective known as Break-Trax.

coμl

A very underrated producer from Poland who makes music in a very unique style, using many different elements from different EDM and non-EDM genres. He has made music in genres such as:

  1. Breakcore
  2. Footwork
  3. Psytrance
  4. Speedcore
  5. 200step
coμl's most unique characteristic is that while he's started making music for about 1 year, his skill in music production has rapidly increased and is already better than a lot of producers who started around his time. He is the owner of a collective known as BrΣak-Trλx which has many members such as jeko, svreign, AXiS/JP and many others. He has also created an osu tournament known as "coμl's Scuffed Overskilled 5 Digit Cup" which is officially on the osu! wiki, and has many custom songs from many different artists in it.

A not-super-popular 16 year old from London, UK.

He'd be a great fit as a featured artist because I think his style would catch on quite quick. It exactly matches the style that you see in osu! a lot. I also think that a lot of his songs are very "mappable", meaning they won't require much effort to figure out the timing.

Overall, super neat guy, would be great to have him here.
Remyria
Forteresse (Link is to their latest album from 2016)

Not really sure how popular they are, but they're a Quebecer black metal band that sings in french, which is really rare. Their sound quality is also above average for the genre according to some of my friends who are really into black metal. Kinda cool imo.

Artist suggestion: EVOKE / Alden Groves

EVOKE (Otherwise known as 'Alden Groves') is a music producer based in Colorado that is "fuelled by emotion and driven by experience", whom is known for producing electronic music as well as rap music that covers various struggles.

On Osu!, their music gained recognition through ranked/loved maps of Future Holds (with Laura Brehm) in Osu!standard and Edison in Osu!mania — the latter map being widely known for its difficult dumpstream patterns.

Overall, I believe he would make for a good fit in the featured artist library as we don't have a lot of music much like Evoke's (Both for electronic and rap music as a whole), so I hope he can provide as a viable option for pushing more song variety inside.

Casey Lee Williams/Jeff Williams

Casey Lee Williams is currently the music director and singer for the show RWBY, a popular webshow in the likes of an anime. RWBY has been around in the osu! community since it's inception in 2013 and has been tied to the likes of many popular charts such as Red like roses pt. 1 & 2, Armed and Ready, and Die. osu! has given the spotlight to the work of Jeff Williams and Casey Lee Williams, as shown from the over FORTY million plays through all of the charts attributed to them. Rooster Teeth has worked with games before (Smite, Paladins, etc.) and in it's current state is definitely willing to license the work of RWBY to osu!

I believe Casey Lee Williams is the best person to contact for this, as she is currently the music director for RWBY and is currently in charge of the music for the show going forward. Jeff Williams does not currently work on it anymore but considering he is the father of Casey, it'll work out contact wise.

Not much introduction needed, there are already a bunch of songs in the FA listing with her as the guest vocalist, and she frequently collaborates with artists in the FA listing so should be a very welcome addition. Speaking of collaborating with current FAs...

There has been multiple ranked sets of them already and they are a very unique power metal band.
Osu does not have many power metal FA's anyways, and one that stands out as much as them would be a perfect fit.

Looking at the current FA line-up, it feels like there is quite a lack of VOCALOID artists within FA despite the fact that there are actually quite a big chunk of osu! players who enjoy this genre. Hence, I'd just like to recommend a few notable VOCALOID artists below who are already quite recognisable on osu!:

DECO*27

Definitely one of the most iconic VOCALOID artists who's been big for well over a decade, with their first ranked map in osu! being in the start of 2010, as well as having many extremely popular maps and songs in general. They have a vast libary of songs available due to this experience, which would definitely benefit in adding variety to the ranked section.

For example, HIBANA and Ghost Rule are both ranked maps with over 10M plays, showing that osu! players are already quite familiar with the artist. Their songs also garner tens of millions of views on YouTube, with even recent songs like Rabbit Hole still hitting those viewcounts, meaning that having them added to FA could attract more people to osu!.

PinocchioP

Very similar to the previous artist, PinocchioP has also consistently been one of the most popular VOCALOID producers during the same timeframe, albeit with quite a bit less fame on osu!. Despite this, they still have a massive backlog of songs in their collection which would be perfect for the game.

Maps like this cover or this loved map are great examples that show that many players do enjoy the style of their songs. Furthermore, although they aren't as popular on osu! as DECO*27, their songs on other platforms do achieve similar viewcounts in the tens of millions, while still retaining this success in the present day too.

Giga

Being another producer who's both influential within and out of osu!, Giga has produced many different songs that attained tens of millions of views on YouTube, with their recency for popular songs ranging from 5 years ago to even just recently 3 months ago. Not only this, they have also helped in the production of many other songs, namely by Reol.

One of the main examples of this would be the most popular beatmap within osu! with over 100M+ plays, which was arranged by Giga in collaboration with Reol. Furthermore, even their own songs like Electric Angel have many maps with millions of plays, showing how beloved their creations are within the osu! community.

n-buna

Being one of the few producers on this list who doesn't only create VOCALOID songs, n-buna has many non-VOCALOID songs within their library which reach hundreds of millions of views on platforms such as YouTube, with their most popular VOCALOID content also reaching viewcounts in the 20M range.

However, even when not only looking at their VOCALOID songs, their most popular map on osu! is still a cover of Toumei Elergy, originally created as a VOCALOID song. With over 28M+ plays, the map is easily one of the most iconic within osu! and with many fans of n-buna even outside of the VOCALOID sphere, adding them to the FA will surely bolster up osu!'s player count.

Kinoshita

Moving away from the uber-popular VOCALOID producers, we have one which is quite a bit more underrated while being still quite iconic, being unique in the way they utilise a rare voicebank (Otomachi Una) within their songs and receiving millions of views as a result!

While they have barely any maps on osu!, with the most popular only sitting at 80k plays for the osu!mania ruleset, their addition to the FA would still benefit many mappers and players who prefer the usage of this niche voicebank, adding more variety to the mix of VOCALOID maps within the ranked section and attracting any potential fans of this unique style to osu!.

jon-YAKITORY

Being quite the recent sensation within the VOCALOID scene, jon-YAKITORY not only creates songs for the genre, but also outside of it as well. However, their most popular songs also often does come from VOCALOID, such as their most popular with over 20M+ views on YouTube. Despite this, very little maps of their VOCALOID songs exist within osu!, which I think has the untapped potential to bring many of these listeners to the game.

For example, their only ranked map within osu! is a moderate success with 80k+ plays, but by adding them to the FA and getting more exposure to mappers, I think that there is a high chance that some of their future maps might attract tons of VOCALOID fans to the game.

Neru

Being an absolute classic VOCALOID producer, they have created numerous songs in the past which have garnered tens of millions of views on YouTube, while utilising the Kagamine Twins' voicebanks which are not as represented within osu!.

Their most popular song has over 3.8M plays on osu!standard while having over 3M on osu!mania, probably being one of the most played maps within the gamemode. Their addition to the FA would ensure that these iconic maps can remain safe, while also encouraging mappers to create more maps of this artist, which would likely attract many fans to the game.

Kanaria

They are the first VOCALOID producer on the list to only become successful quite recently, with their producing journey only starting in 2020. However, although they might not have many songs within their library, the songs they do have are some of the most popular in the modern day, with songs like KING becoming an instant hit with 80M+ views on YouTube, as well as countless covers being made.

Within osu!, there are countless maps of covers of their most popular songs in ranked across all gamemodes, such as KING and Envy Baby, both of which have well over 1M plays and with other KING covers having even more. With how popular they are both in and out of osu!, their addition to the FA will surely boost the popularity of the game.

Chinozo

Being another icon within the VOCALOID world, Chinozo has produced some of the most VOCALOID songs ever on music streaming platforms, with their most popular song, Goodbye Sengen, having over 128M+ views in just 4 short years. Not only do they have multiple popular songs with millions of views, they also utilise more uncommon voicebanks like floweR and kafU, bringing them into the spotlight

With how popular their songs are, it is only natural that there are multiple maps of songs like Goodbye sengen and its covers, with maps such as this having over 2M+ plays. Overall, Chinozo brings some of the most unique songs within the genre to osu!, benefitting the assortment of music on the platform!

sasakure.UK

Being yet another one of the many producers to gain popularity within the past few years, sasakure.UK has produced many hit songs within the scene as of recent, with songs like Tondemo Wonderz having over 20M views in just 2 years. This popularity has led to many of their songs being included within many other rhythm games, such as CHUNITHM and Project Sekai, proving that they are a perfect fit for the style of these games.

Even back before their popularity within the larger VOCALOID scene, they already had multiple popular ranked beatmaps such as Spider Thread Monopoly and SeventH-HeaveN, with both having about 2M+ plays. This further shows how their songs are a perfect fit for the rhythm game genre, and hence having them as FA would increase the overall enjoyment of the game with their very fitting songs.

kz-livetune

Being easily one of the most iconic classic VOCALOID producers in the genre, they have had many highly successful songs within the past decade, which have also similarly resulted in popular beatmaps from the classic era of osu!. With their most popular songs from a decade past such as Tell Your World and Redial having both immense recognisability and millions of views, it is undoubtable that they have had a massive impact on the scene.

With maps such as Yellow and Tell Your World hailing from the very early 2010s while still having millions of plays, it's safe to say that their songs have also had a profound impact during the early days of the osu! community, and having them as FA would immortalise this legacy within the game.

Orangestar

Last but certainly not least, Orangestar is an immensely popular VOCALOID producer whom songs have garnered tens of millions views on YouTube, as well as having definitely some of the most iconic maps within osu! in general. Through their usage of the voicebank IA within, they also stand out from the crowd and bring variety to the ranked section within the game.

One cannot mention Orangestar without pointing to this cover of their most popular song, with it having over 30M+ plays and being immensely popular within the osu!standard playerbase. By securing them as FA, it will ensure that maps like these can remain up and bring enjoyment to future osu! players, which I believe is cause enough to reach out to them.

Conclusion
I believe that for the sizeable number of VOCALOID enjoyers within osu!, simply adding any one of these artists into FA would be an absolute delight and increase the enjoyment of the game, as well as increasing the variety within ranked and bringing more like-minded VOCALOID listeners into osu!. Hence, I hope that at least some of these producers will be considered. Thank you!

Namitape

An up-and-coming vocaloid artist that primarily makes synthwave with vocals with some songs only being synthwave. I've asked in the past with my own map and was given permission to chart it and gave permission to use their music in osu (my map: beatmapsets/1823196#mania/3741072). They have all their music in a google drive that is free to use. https://imgur.com/a/ZpApi3c - me asking them if it'd be fine to chart their music and their response.

Artist suggestion: Split Chain

An up-and-coming band that had only started producing and releasing last year, they are a contemporary UK-based band consisting of 5 members that writes songs inspired by the shoegaze, nu-metal and grunge scene of the 2000's. They may have a small discography of only 7 songs to date and also don't have a single song mapped in osu!, however they have developed a good following already with 300k monthly listeners on Spotify and I believe that they are a very good fit considering their unique blend of rock influences reminiscent of bands such as Deftones to name a few, and a good opportunity to add some song variety into the featured artist library.

TamolarM is a pretty underground Hardcore composer (along with some other music genres), mostly known for his J-Core bootleg remixes of anime/eroge songs. Despite this, he has a lot of original compositions on his Soundcloud.

His songs cater nicely to both osu!std and especially to osu!taiko mapping for their multitude of active sounds to follow at all times, which can make for very interesting maps.

Also, he seems to have some interest in osu!, as he retweets maps of his songs that get posted to Twitter and talks about them.

I personally call him the "Legend" in Guitar Hero/Clone Hero community because he's know for his Soulless series but he have other projects besides Soulless memes.

Don't really need to explain too much about Reol. This band rocks!

Keep in mind that it's my own personal list but it would be really good if they would become a Featured Artists one day.
