[resolved] [osu!lazer] osu!lazer change folder location not working

when i try to change the directory in-game i get this error

it also creates an empty folder in the directory called osu-lazer, i tried to move the folder manually but that just creates a new folder in the original directory

Were you doing something else at the time of trying this? Like having imports going on in the background?

Could also be something like antivirus software doing a background scan of the game files or something.

at first i thought the same thing but it still happened when i didn't have imports going on, i haven't tried it without antivirus tho so i'll do that

Soooo... as it turns out someone else hit this and it is not an antivirus thing, it's an actual bug in our code. Hidden beneath a few solid layers of WTF. It only happens if you try to change location while not having any beatmaps imported which is why "turning off antivirus" probably "helped" (spoilers, it didn't, you just imported stuff in the meantime).

https://github.com/ppy/osu/pull/30151 should fix this for next release. Maybe. If it gets merged. Another change might. Either way I hope to have this fixed by next release.
