RULES
Scoring and Mod Usage
- Score v2 will be used.
- The following mods are allowed: Fade In (FI), Hidden (HD), Flashlight (FL), Mirror (MR), No Fail (NF).
Team Composition
- Teams will be formed at random from the registration list. They will be constructed in such a way that the members are from the same country or located within a general area (or similar timezones) for convenience of scheduling.
- Each team is limited to only have four (4) members. A team captain will be nominated by each team to serve as the point of communication between the staff and the team.
- While it is not required, it is encouraged that that players that have played or are planning to play in the osu!mania 7K World Cup will be the ones participating.
Round Overview and Mappool Structure
- Teams are placed to a single-elimination bracket.
- Mappool Sizes and Best of Format for each round are given as follows:
- Round of 16 (Best of 9) - 5 Rice-based, 3 LN-based, 3 Hybrids, 1 Tiebreaker
- Quarterfinals and Semifinals (Best of 11)- 6 Rice-based, 4 LN-based, 3 Hybrids, 1 Tiebreaker
- Finals (Best of 13)- 7 Rice-based, 5 LN-based, 3 Hybrids, 1 Tiebreaker
- All pools will be constructed (or directly copied) from previous 7K tournaments.
Match Proper
- The multiplayer room will be created and invites sent to players 5-10 minutes prior to the match start time. The multiplayer rooms are named in the following format: RAND: (<Team 1>) vs. (<Team 2>)"
- If a team is more than 10 minutes late to the for their match, the team inside the MP room will be declared the winner. If neither team appears, the team with the higher seed will be considered the winner.
- Teams are required to protect 1 chart, and ban 1 chart in the pool, excluding the tiebreaker. Protected charts cannot be banned, and banned charts cannot be picked. The captains shall use the "!roll" command in-game to determine the order in which charts are protected, banned, and picked. The order is as follows:
- Team with the higher roll: First Protect, First Pick
- Team with the lower roll: First Ban
- The Protect phase happens first, then Bans, then Picks.
- Each team will alternate picks based on the !roll results until a winner is determined based on the Best-of format for the round. If both players are tied on match point (e.g. 4-4 score in a Best-of-9), the players will play the tiebreaker map of the pool to determine the winner
- Teams are given 2 minutes to protect/ban/pick maps when it is their turn. Failure to do so means that the referee will protect/ban/pick at random in behalf of the player.
- Teams are eligible to use a 2 minute tactical time out once per match. They are only allowed to use it when it is their turn to pick. It will take into effect after the pick timer has expired.
- Only the Team Captain's decision will be considered by the match officials.
- Only two players per team are allowed to play at a time for every pick.
Use of Random
For the purposes of this tournament, the Random mod will be used with the following stipulations:
- Use of the Random mod during a match is optional.
- It can only be used once per team in every round.
- It can be applied to any regular pick in the mappool. This means that the tiebreaker cannot be played with Random.
- The picking team may opt to use Random only on their own picks.
- Teams can not apply Random to their opponent's protect. They may use it on their own should they wish.
- There will be no penalties or anything for the teams if they decided not to use Random mod at all.
Player Conduct
In order to preserve the integrity of the tournament, all players are expected to observe proper conduct.
Improper conduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Any form of toxicity towards other players, staff, or spectators.
- Unsportsmanlike behaviour, such as purposefully throwing matches or match fixing.
- Deliberate misconduct.
- Deliberate stalling in matches or other actions complicating the running of the tournament.
- Ignoring a request for a rescheduling agreement with the purpose of forcing a default from one party.
