"pretty little psycho" is so so classic, this is instantly a late 2000s timeloop... i wish i grew up with this so i could love it like other people do but my music taste is just... what i like is so outside of what i want to relate to people with, i wish i liked more music than all the music i already like, i wish i liked the right kind of music-- not because i have to or anything, but just to be able to relate or connect with someone

but i still do reminisce about a fictional imaginary life (as someone i didn't have the chance to be) through this song... i would've loved to find this song from animation memes and enjoy my fandoms while listening and feeling cathartic about it. it's just fun, it's not complicated or interesting or poignant but it's the kind of fun that a lot of people want from music :')

i feel like both of these would be in just shapes and beats!! they feel like the perfect songs for that game... but i also really feel like they'd be in animation memes of some sort! they're really good and i wish i had the music making ability that you do :')

understandable :') artist and musician envy is so real, i hope you find a love and passion in you somewhere to make the music you love, or the art you love... even if it's hard to do it the way you want or the way other people like it, i think it's important to try and create and explore more-- if all you ever really want to do is a monophonic midi voice layer without really messing with creating instruments, you can still try something like harmonizing with more voices at different pitches that work with the original voice pitch, or try automating the volume/panning/pitch a little bit to make it feel more human with different intensities or by giving it a sense of space or by having vibrato at the right moments! the goal is how it sounds later, but hopefully you can enjoy the journey of understanding and playing with the production process too, because curiosity is super helpful for keeping an interest <3

jsab is interesting and i think the first song might make sense being there... i remember noticing the game in the late 2010s and then fading out of interest with it soon after but i always thought the shape-characters were so cute ;o;

a lot of what i looked at in that genre of dodging shape-bullets would be found in other games like "soundodger" from studio bean, or of course "undertale", but my original starting point was old kongregate flash games all the way until my love for it grew once i played a game called "super hexagon"-- and that started my path to jsab and then elsewhere
