Man I miss Japanese conbini drinks... take me back. I want to be able to buy 20 different different lemon sodas. I'm so empty without my daily fix of Pocari Sweat. Where are the 200 yen unrefrigerated shelf cheeseburgers. This sucks. I want zunda ice cream again :(

I miss the onigiri I would get from conbini. And Royal Milk Tea out of a vending machine.

Yep! Spent a month doing a short study abroad program. I also spent pretty much that entire month sick so I didn't get to do too much :(
(I also never went to Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto etc so I didn't get to see all the hyped touristy stuff. Mostly just went to class and back)

Mildly tempting if I get into school there. It's hard finding a place to live as a foreigner there :(

Cool! Well, except for the sick part. I was there for half a year for study abroad. Where were you at? I was in-between Kyoto and Osaka, in Hirakata, so I went to both fairly regularly.

I don't want to specify the exact city for privacy reasons but I was in northern Japan (Tohoku region, more or less). I didn't get to visit many places, unfortunately, but the Tohoku region is super cool! I want to go back and see all the things I missed in favor of going to doctor's appointments...

... Sendai is exactly where the school I'm planning to apply to is. Are you a mind reader? Or is it because Taipei's airport is 1/3rd of the international flights there.

Here is a list of things you should do in Sendai/the surrounding area:
- check out the area around Sendai Station, specifically the shopping streets. Lots of interesting places to see
- gfu near the Oomachi subway stop has some pretty good burgers. However be careful not to walk too far past it or you'll end up in an alley of love hotels. It's on the border of the red light district.
- all the weeb stuff you'll ever desire is in the EBeanS building. They've got everything. It's like 10 floors of heaven.
- Take the train to Matsushima and have some gyutan.
- buy as much Zunda and zunda flavored products as possible. This is an order
- don't skip Tanabata.
- if for some reason you find yourself in need of an eye doctor, the doctor at Hideyuki Opthalmology clinic can speak English proficiently. The nurses don't, though, so you'll need Google translate to communicate if you don't know Japanese medical terminology.
