[Archived] osu cant recognize osz files; app is stuck in importing beatmaps screen

osu is stuck in importing beatmaps screen. when i checked the songs folder, all of the downloads are still in .osz files, not in the folder format i'm used to

In the settings, there should be a button near the bottom that says to "Repair osu! folder permissions"

Try seeing if this works first.

If it doesnt work then try holding shift while launching osu!, a little dialog box should come up. In this box there will be a button to "Repair osu!" This method is different and does separate things so no worry about double dipping.

for the first option, the screen hanged for a bit until a window that says "osu took a bit too long while trying to perform an elevated operation (-setpermissions).\nplease report this." appeared

as for the second, the game is still stuck on the importing beatmaps page after doing the instructions and loading a beatmap


copying my pre-extracted song folders from back then didnt trigger the error though
